The camper area is small with less than thirty sites which sets a more relaxed setting. The sites are relatively private with trees and brush between each site though you can still see your neighboring site. The sites are mostly level but rain caused pooling so bring a long hookup hose and cable if you must reposition away from the pedestal. Bath facilities were clean. Showers are private but restrooms are shared. Oddly, although the park mentions two dump stations, (public and campers only), nowhere on a map are they depicted or their locations described. After hunting, they can be found at the end of the camping area and the welcome center. The campers’ station has two spaces with hoses and were clean. The camp store and welcome center have limited hours during the pandemic and were not open during our stay. Trails were very nice but do bring plenty of insect repellant, cover yourself head to toe, including gloves, and wear a face net. The mosquitoes will swarm you throughout your trek. Not good to bring a child. The boat ramp was clean and large with two docks. The kayak launch has an ADA accessible floating ramp with rollers that allows the kayak to be launched easily from dry dock without stepping into the water. Bring plenty of supplies because stores and fuel are not close to the park.

Great State Park with room for big rigs to tents. State Park Rangers on sites and giving tours. Nicely kept and sites are very private with a great deal of trees. Good access to the Rappahannock River for water sports. Camp store also does boat rentals. Nice sites. Some are reserved and many are first come first served. Cell signal varies.

This is a real gem....a 10 on a 1-5 scale! Large, private sites with ample shade, spotless bathhouses. Great spot for the outdoorsman...hiking, boating fishing, and nature events for kiddies by park rangers. It is located in Virginias Northern Neck, known as a fishermans paradise. And for variety , there are several quaint towns to tour. I highly recommend Belle Isle Stata Park
