Watch out for the lock fee of 25 hours. This is a scam where they take $25 to lock your site after you reserve it if you go online and reserve your site there should be no reason why they would need to move you. talking to them they say the computer does it automatically which is BS. Like I said it鈥檚 just a scam to get 25 extra dollars out of you.

Not awful but definitely not as nice as it seems it should be from the website. Kids running around in their bikes without care of vehicles on road. Beach is a nasty joke. Overall seems a bit run down.

DO NOT give any negative reviews of this place any weight!! This is the most perfect campground on the east coast! I have been camping here since 1977鈥 has it changed? You bet!! ALL FOR THE BETTER!!! this place has sooo much to do you will be begging your kids to hang out with you!! Perfect family vacation!!! Wish I could give it 10 stars!!!

Danger! Avoid at all costs. Same spot double the price since last year. There were posted signs outside the office that there is dangerous levels of lead in the water in the campground. The gate booth was open and unattended at 4:30 on October 31, 2022, the last day of the season. It was explained by an employee the next morning that the gatekeeper was fired for drinking on the job. Miss the previous owners. We won芒鈧劉t be back. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Neat and clean with spacious sites that did not necessarily require straight parking. Hard pan sites were ok in fair weather. They might be messy to n the rain. Our site was difficult to get into due to huge pine trees. Nicely placed on the Bay. The noise at night due to late night parties and noise from little children early in the morning give it only three stars.

We were very satisfied with our stay at Cherry Stone. The staff was friendly. The facilities were clean, especially the bath houses. They are at the top of the cleanest bath houses I芒鈧劉ve seen. There芒鈧劉s plenty of entertainment for kids. The WiFi was the best I芒鈧劉ve had at a campground The negatives: if you have 50amp you won芒鈧劉t be able to use the additional plugs on the tower bc the 50amp plug is directly under the outlet. The campground has a nice store but don芒鈧劉t forget anything big bc the only stores within 45 mins is a Food Lion and Dollar General.

Wow this place is huge!! Luckily we were there doing slow time so it wasn芒鈧劉t very busy. I can芒鈧劉t imagine what it is like when full. Bathrooms were the nicest I芒鈧劉ve ever seen. Huge laundromat. Nice looking pools but they weren芒鈧劉t open yet which was a bummer because we wanted to go swimming. Lots for kids to do-mini golf paddle boats kiddie pool etc. I guess the only reason I did not give it 5 stars as we don芒鈧劉t usually like going to these big huge commercial type campgrounds but state park wasn芒鈧劉t much cheaper and we thought we could swim in the pool and it wasn芒鈧劉t open. ALL the people were super friendly and helpful. Great bicycle rail trail just below pottery store. 4.9 miles paved trail that ends at wildlife refuge center.

Been camping here off n on since I was 6... forty years now. This has always been a great place friendly staff and awesome facility! The addition of about 200 yards (estimate) of sandy beach, makes it even better!
Have brought my teenage kids here the past two summers and they (even in teen years) LOVE IT!!!
I will be coming back ever year we can possibly come. My family just loves it here!!
Amenities include newly remodeled bath houses, newly remodeled cafe with awesome menu. A general store that blows em all outta the water and a fresh produce and seafood 芒鈧揻arm stand芒鈧
5 swimming pools, put out golf free paddle boats 4 fishing piers, and activities director to keep kids of all ages busy your entire stay! Greatest place on earth!!

Have camped at Cherrystone for almost 20 years. The last few years have seen a change in service and quality that will prevent us from EVER returning. Fees for everything, rate increases every year with no new amenities, rude staff, and crazy rules that make no sense. The property has declined, bathrooms are dirty and they are so storm-shy that two trips were cut short with them telling us we had to leave. Once they even had the nerve to refuse to refund money pre-paid for a golf cart when they evacuated the campground. Only after a manager got involved did they relent and give us the money in credit - no refund. Never again!
