If you value your child芒鈧劉s life - don芒鈧劉t go here. Dangerous camp site settings along stated road. Local person speeding down state road (25mph - but he was obviously going at least 38-40). He didn芒鈧劉t care, hit a child on his bike. Hard. Several witnesses to his excess speed, and, the driver had zero, zero remorse. He just didn芒鈧劉t seem to care. Wanted to drive off. Didn芒鈧劉t even ask how the boy was. Nothing. Made a comment 芒鈧 It芒鈧劉s a state road, not a playground芒鈧. Only about 4 households live past the campground on gravel road, so this reckless driver KNEW he was in a campground. So sorry for this young boy. Broken leg, concussion, but hopefully he will recover quickly. What an absolute terrible person this driver is - and he will still live there if YOU camp there. VDOT has been asked to lower speed limit and post more caution signs . Deaf ears. Thanks VDOT. you should be liable as well. See other posts. Stay away.
Danger to Children

If you have a camper and children, don芒鈧劉t come here. If you芒鈧劉re hiking the AT, you will love it. No space for your camper to park or pull out. Road leading up is way too windy and hard to navigate with a camper. No cell service at all. WiFi they provide doesn芒鈧劉t work. Fire pit located too close to camper for safety. No place to park vehicles. My child was riding bikes with another boy on the only paved road, which is considered a state road, and the other boy was hit by a car by a local resident. Local said, 芒鈧搕his is a state road not a playground芒鈧. He is apparently known to the campground and has had other altercations with campers. The boy had 2 broken leg bones and a concussion. He was lucky. Don芒鈧劉t bring your children here. The local is going to end up hurting someone else.

Mostly seasonal campers.
Beautiful setting that was diminished by inconsiderate campers... zero involvement by staff.
They claim to be 芒鈧渂ig rig friendly芒鈧劉 but In actuality they are big rig marginally passable. The two pull-thrus are a joke if your trailer is longer than 34芒鈧劉.

Owners very friendly and welcoming. Campsites are nice and very quiet. Bathrooms were not clean and one of the two toilets in the women's room was stopped up. Location feels very remote and in a natural setting. Store is a bit out dated and does not have a lot of camp items or groceries. Price was high for a small camper without full hookups. Wife says that the only way we would stay again is if we had a unit with full hook ups.

Great ice cream, and healthy serving depending on which teen serves it! Very kind service. Narrow road from main road. Entire experience difficult for big rigs. Trees difficult to navigate, but worth it to be beside creek. Had site 79, cool and shady on the creek, but tough to negotiate. Popular with the locals and kayakers, hikers. Run by sweet VA family trying to run a reputable independent campground, but first glance is sketchy. Wifi at camp store. Excellent restaurant at interstate exit with beautiful mountain view -"Foot of the Mountain" with delicious and creative burgers. Take picnic lunch to Blue Ridge Winery, sit on porch, sip, and enjoy spectacular view, great live music on Saturdays. Buchanan has quaint lunch spots, antiquing, local produce.

One star is generous! This place is a dump. When you arrive it looks like a low rent trailer park with run down trailers all crammed together. The roads in the park are dirt and very rough. Don't go here. It's sketchy!

Beautiful Campground but very difficult for big rigs. Narrow 5 mile road to get there. Sites are difficult for big rigs. Pull through sites are parallel to the road and required making a u turn to enter. I will probably have to back out to avoid trees. Very tranquil in spite of low vacancy. I would recommend it for smaller trailers and tents. I have a 38 foot 5th wheel.

Quiet, clean, nice people, beautiful campground, with the sound of the creek, what more could you ask for.
