A great little RV park that welcomes birders and everyone else. The sites are well-spaced and there are lots of shade trees spread around the park. The managers are laid-back and very helpful and go out of their way to be of service. The park does have mostly older campers, but the occasional younger couple are there; we've been coming here for a few weeks most winters since the early 2000s and we've seen perhaps five children. The rates are low, the grounds are kept very clean and the campers are great people. What's not to like? The park's name has been changed to Americana: The Birding Center RV Resort, probably because another local RV park pirated the name Americana. Bentsen Rio Grande State Park Birding Center is only a mile down the road and the Americana has it's own bird sanctuary with lots of feeders and birds. Our GPS gave us directions to a different RV park on N. Bentsen Palm Drive when we entered "Americana RV Park", so be careful; use the street address for navigation: 1840 S. Bentsen Palm Drive, Palmview, TX.

Nice park, but not 55+ as stated! Permanent residents and transient workers - some with kids. Landscaped with mostly large sites. Advertised as dog friendly, but manager has large dog that attacked a camper’s dog resulting in serious injuries. Told this has happened numerous times over the last 3 years.

We felt welcomed from the moment we entered this park. A couple of neighbors even helped us fix our step. It is close to everything and a day trip to even more. Very clean and landscaping is so cool! Spots are shady and spacious. We will definitely stay here again.

This is an unpretentious, so friendly, very active, quite beautiful RV park with spacious sites, beautiful foliage, and extremely helpful staff. We use it as a home base for bird watching, jumping into Mexico at Nuevo Progreso, and exploring the activities in the area. We will return again!
