Headwater campground is right next to large public boat ramp and swimming beach so each day there is a lot traffic to these areas. Bathrooms are old and small and need deep cleaning. No laundry, no WiFi, 1-2 bars ATT, no cable, small number of antenna tv signals. Sites are level side to side but not even close front to back. Only a few sites receive decent shade during heat of the day. Several sites have no shade at all. Poor bank fishing from campground area. I didnt drive through the tail water campground but from seeing it from the road I believe this would have been a better option.

Stayed 4 nights in site 34. The check in lady was very nice and told me our site is a little tricky but worth it. Very nice site but getting in was downright scary! Thought I would slide into the lake, but with our 25 foot trailer, it was doable. Getting out not too bad. Across the street from the campground is a nice 1 mile trail. It has its own parking, but it’s an easy walk from the campground. You’re about a half hour from Dollywood and all the Pigeon Forge stuff. Dump station was very workable. Next time we may try sites 53 or 54.

Thoroughly enjoyed this campground. Sites were not too close together. Many sites abut the water .Water & electric were available at most sites. Campground has dump station and also provides honey wagon service for a charge. Firewood also sold at office . Laundry was available at the office for a fee. Office staff were all helpful and pleasant . Cell service was adequate . Spent a week at this campground with our 28 foot motorhome .

Relatively quiet setting other than boat loading/unloading nearby. Some sites are on the water, others uphill from the reservoir. Most sites are not level. Some sites are really, really not level. Cell service is marginal. The campground map (online, printed, and on a kiosk) show the sites as loop-in pull-thru. This is completely misleading. The sites are back-in or parallel to the road in a few cases. Most sites have large trees for shade, while some are fully in the open. Bathhouse facilities are woefully insufficient for the number of campsites.

Great staff, very clean with nice size sites. Sites 50-54 have nice water views. This was just a stopover for us but everything worked well and it is quiet and safe. The staff is excellent and helpful.

Beautiful, quiet, clean, bug free camping area. Parked by the river and right by the Dam. Lots if space between sites. Swimming area very nice. Wildlife to observe. Nice staff. Would stay a week if we had time. Will come back. Our Site 59 good but 50-58 are better. Cool breeze in ‘hot’ August was so refreshing. Great place to take friends or church groups - privacy and beauty, good price $25 nite on the water.

Nice park right on the reservoir. Water and 50 amp gravel site, not too level. Well run and very clean. Could only stay 1 night but would love to return for a longer visit.

super friendly, spacious and beautiful views of the dam. We stated for two nights in our Motorhome: $23 per night for electric and water hook up. Bathrooms were clean and water is hot for showers. Super quiet and peaceful in October. And beautiful morning fog and sunrise. A view of the smokey mountains from afar and a beautiful crane on the water was the perfect start to every morning.

Different from the Douglas Lake tail water TVA campground. Boat launch, Beach, beautiful views and shade trees. Great place to spend a week. Family oriented. Close to I-40 and close to pigeon forge.
