We did our first winter trip in our camper here. The first loop is the only one open for the season. As others noted this loop has a lot of smaller and unlevel sites. Bathhouse was warm and clean but needs an upgrade. Hiking trails were good and we visited some areas in Crossville and Crab Orchard, including Ozone falls. The majority of the park was closed but our stay was quiet and peaceful

Stayed at CMSP three nights. Wednesday, Thursday, we had the place almost to ourselves. Friday it got a little crowded, but it was a weekend. Campsites are nice, a little closer than the website shows. Lots of shade. Had good wireless until Friday evening. This is a popular place. There is golf course about 2 miles away. Crossville, TN., is beautiful town with everything you need. Bills itself as the golf capital of TN. Bathhouse was dated but clean and heated. All sites have concrete pad, concrete picnic table and fire ring. There are a few sites with sewer hookup. Campground is about 10 miles south of I40 right on Rt 127.

This is the most gorgeous state Park we芒鈧劉ve visited across the country in three years of RV travel, both in terms of amenities and scenery. The RV sites are top-notch with concrete pads, a fire ring, concrete picnic table and benches on a separate gravel area. There芒鈧劉s a very good restaurant (wasn芒鈧劉t open for weekday breakfasts but dinner was yummy). Other pluses: Lots of shade trees and shady covered picnic areas, a museum detailing the park芒鈧劉s and its buildings芒鈧劉 芒鈧 plus a seven-arch bridge 芒鈧 construction in the late 1930s by Civilian Conservation Corps crews, as well as a boat launch, kid play areas, tennis court, volleyball court. An aviary with unreleasable birds was also very interesting. All for among the most reasonable price we芒鈧劉ve encountered. Oh, and free WiFi!

Spent 5 nights (Early April 2019). Weekend was crowded as usual for a State Park. Sunday it cleared out. Stayed in area 1. 5 areas but only 2 were open. Areas 3,4,5 were closed. About 1/2 of the sites in area 1 are level, drastic incline in the other 1/2. A few sites had sewer. Smallish more packed sites in area 1. Plenty of trees and nice sites though. Other areas were more level and newer. Bath house was ok but dated, super warm though. Great Lake, great trails, restaurant is good. Good site for day trips in area, Chattanooga and falls creek falls, golf, Etc. Office, check in layout is confusing, go to office and just pull in behind parked cars on first drive. It looks as if you can park on second drive but there is no way out, you have to back out. In the summers you can check in at the camp store which has great access and is on the same drive as dump station. Try in get in areas 2,3,4,5 if possible. They have a pool and boat rentals in summer. Very quiet after dark. Not far from falls creek and Rock Island. Would stay at rock island if I went back to that area. Much newer sites, more level, more remote, super nice. This is a good State Park campground. Sketchy internet, good ATT phone service.

Nice state park campground, some sites recently upgraded to include sewer hookups. It's not a quick easy trip from I-40 however if all you are looking for is an overnight stay. There's a restaurant at the campground that has great reviews, unfortunately we didn't get to eat there.
