Awesome Family Campground. National Fish Hatchery and Museum across the street. Beside that is a fantastic playground in the city park. The shower and bathroom is the nicest we’ve seen on our entire trip through South Dakota. $45 for full hook up. Spaces are tight and packed in but trees are sprinkled through providing shade and a pleasant atmosphere. Picnic tables and fire rings are nice. Bike path runs beside campground. Creek runs through. Tent sites are spread out in nice green areas. Can reserve over phone. Follow directions on website not gps.

Campground has direct access to paved trail for walking, jogging and biking. The trail runs along Spearfish Creek which leads to parks and playgrounds with many benches along the way.
The campground is very well maintained and monitored. Full hookups available.
Code access to wonderful shower and toilet houses.
Beautiful little city.
Only negative is poor wifi

The park is very nice and clean with trails and a stream. Lawns were lush and there was lots of trees. Staff were friendly and helpful. Yes spaces were close together but plenty of room for the table and a fire pit. Great value and would plan to stay here again

Nice location at the stream. Otherwise the WIFI they advertise is non-existent, the over-the-TV is non-existent within city limits, and they spray herbicides on the rocks while kids and dogs are playing in their sites (without warnings). "I'm behind on my spraying and I'm told to do it." is the response. They stop boon docking at Walmart to push people here. Don't like city councils choices and won't come back. Too many good CGs locally.

Excellent city park campground. Sites are close together unless you pay for a premium site but it didn't bother us. Park has walking/biking trail. Park has weekly summer music series, and we walked over. Bought beer from the local micro-brewery tent and enjoyed the music. Also walked around the historic fish hatchery. Very interesting. We would stay here again.

Terrific campground, very nice staff. Recommend three things - (1) Reservations (2) If a larger trailer or RV, try for a back in away from the trail and river as they are tight with trees directly across and a fairly narrow road (3) avoid staying during Sturgis Bike Week - very crowded in entire area. This is the first full week in August.

Make sure to make reservations and go for the pull through. Others are very cramped together. Beautiful campground best in the area

Great park. Lots of open area, clean bathrooms and showers. Nice hiking & biking trail. Adjacent to the historical national fish hatchery. Really interesting ( who would have guessed) and free.
