The park has three sections with by far the largest being the upper level just behind the office and has all the full hookup spots. Its sits on a steep slope so all the sites are tiered with retaining walls. The bathrooms are cleaned daily and the laundry facilities are clean and modern. The owners and staff go out of their way to make you happy and could not be more friendly and helpful. The ONLY negative I would add is the ground asphalt used to pad the sites. I couldn’t leave my windows open on a cool night cause the air reeks of asphalt. It maybe because it’s fresh but I wish they’d have used gravel instead. The roads are a bit in disrepair which made entering and exiting on a Harley tricky.

We were very satisfied with our 3 night stay at this park. Owners and staff very nice and helpful. Park is centrally located for all 3 days of magnificent Black Hills day trips. It is an older park with close sites, which met our needs just fine. This park had all the accommodations we needed in working order. Would stay again.

On the plus side: great views of rapid city at night, convenient location, handy camp store on site.
Cons: run down. Poor WiFi, pool in disrepair, laundry and fitness center facilities are run down, very bright lighting overnight, sites close together, bath/shower houses have had some updating, but are very small. We’ll look elsewhere next trip.

This place was for sale in August of 2019, owners were in the process to build retaining walls between the rv spots as there was a step down of about three feet on every pull thru space.
The step down was on the door side of our camper, caution was needed to keep from sliding downhill as we exited the trader.
If all of the spaces get retaining walls built it could be a pretty nice place to stay.
Stayed here in a 37 ‘ fifthwheel

Nice folks. Park is in nice location. Restrooms are adequate. Much of the campground is in need of repair or renovation. The roads through the park are torn up in places and pretty rough. Sites are narrow.

Friendly people. Condition of park needs some upgrading for the price. Great location overlooking Rapid City. Close to highway so you get that noise. Some sites have views but most don’t. Laundry and bathrooms are OK. WiFi was good.

It is a OK park, owner helped me get into a good spot, great view and convenient to Mount Rushmore , Custer state park, Crazy Horse monument. 50 amp and WiFi worked well. Would stay there again. But pricey.

Stayed 2 days in July 2018 paid 27 a night for electric and water hook up only.
Pros
Close to town, nice city view
Nice area for pets
Easy on and off access to the road to Rushmore
Cons
Park staff in office were slow
Spaces were tight and close together
Showers and bathrooms should have been cleaner
Summery
Reasonable rates and convenient location, the park maintenance guys were supper helpful with directions and local information. If you don’t mind being close to your neighbors it isn’t a bad place to stay, if your only looking for a place to rest after being out all day it works well. We would stay again

Beautiful, well maintained resort. While we were there only three days (that was all the time we could reserve because of its popularity), we found it to be very well managed.
Next year we plan to reserve early and stay a couple weeks if we can.

Spaces are very close together, we could not extend our awning. The water system went out and we had no water for one day, when it came back on it had a funny taste. We didn't use the laundry or showers. The office people were ok. If your rig is over 30ft be careful staying here.
