We we're tired and looking for any campground where we could stop for one night. We pulled in when we saw the sign and saw empty sites. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We camped here on a weekday.
This CG is a gem! It has only 20 primitive sites (no hookups) and only 4 were used the Tuesday after Labor Day. The sites are relatively small yet nestled in the pines and most are relatively private. Some needed a little leveling. There's no wifi. ATT and Verizon coverage was ok. The CG host was friendly and helpful.
It's 2 miles from Mt Rushmore and 4 miles from the high point on the Iron Mountain Highway. It's also 2 miles from Keystone yet away from the tourist traffic.

Beautiful small woodsy campground by a creek. Very close to Mt. Rushmore.
