Wow, I see that the last review was posted way back in 2021. This RV park has been under new ownership the last two seasons, since 2024, and is great! This used to be Wheels West... these new owners upgraded all the water and sewer to the sites and electric to 30/50 amp. The sites are pea gravel, not grass, so there is no dead grass and no mud... what a great idea. Although the restaurant was closed by the previous owners, there is a nice little store and clean shower house.

No restaurant closed. Spaces are so unlevel we are dangerously jacked up. The county fair lot we stayed in looks a lot better and it was just grass spot. Would leave but can’t get our money back.

Small but nice park. Level, graveled sites with full hookups. Reasonably priced given the local competition.Office and restaurant had no signs of life but it is late in the season and with the pandemic they may have closed early. Still, we never saw an owner, camp host or any responsible person. Several units looked like they had been there a long time
Main reason for the three stars was our sketchy neighbors. Two guys, never left their RV, music and loud discussion all night, no signs of life all day. After three days, a parade of local cars started stopping by for some sort of brief transaction one can only guess the nature of. The last stayed and they partied loudly until 4am when one got upset, threw something on fire, and stormed off. Another camper staying a few sites away did approach them about midnight but was sent scrambling back to her RV by their dog. Not pleasant, we left a day early to avoid the drama-keep the fee for that day. The peace of mind in another park was worth it.

I would give it 5 stars if they had shade trees. RV sites are nice and level. New owners are very nice and helpful. Huge potential with the add of cafe. Has bunkhouse and pavilion which could accommodate a huge family reunion or such crowd. Right next to Custer State Park. Custer 7th Calvary camped here in 1874. Easy to find.

New young owner this season, very interested in making our stay a positive one. I’m sure he will be continuing to update the park. Great location, great level gravel pull-through sites. The park is located on an area once occupied by Custer and his troops! We will return. We love Custer State Park.

Clean grass spaces. 20,30,50amp. A little tight. Restaurant onsite pretty decent. Was able to watch deer feeding & playing in field in front of porch. 20 min from Mount Rushmore. Free ranging buffalo about 30 min away. Park sites on an old Custer camp from 1874.
