This campground is so central to Sylvan Lske and all the great hikes in the needles area that I think it’s worth a 5. We had good privacy in site 25 with electric and could fill water from multiple locations. The only dump station for the Custer state parks is at Game Lodge, but we only had to pay $10 at another local private campground to dump since we were headed in the other direction. Bathrooms and showered weee very clean. We had 1 bar LTE, but could drive 1 mile up to the lodge for 2 bars in parking lot or use their free Wi-Fi in the lobby.

Tented here in June, site #14. Modest space, not much privacy, some trees but not much shade. Site had wood box with dirt for tent. area was quiet.

Amazing location. Lake is absolutely stunning. Campground is nice with power and water onsite. Bathrooms were nice and clean. No dump station. I’m giving it 4 of 5 due to permanent running water on the site I stayed in (08E). The previous campers had dug a small trench to relocate the water a bit. Overall, I would still recommend (just avoid that site).

Beautiful forested area but had to carry water to camper and no dump station. Staff rec use of dump at a private camp 5 miles away which cost $10. Many sites too small for anything over 20ft long

nice forest camp. Everything was clean. Showers were free. Good home base for local sites.
