First the good. This park has beautiful trees! We had good shade in the afternoon even though our right side faced west. This park is very well located for Custer St park entry and driving to Wind Cave and Badlands. The town of Custer is really nice and fireworks were great for the 4th. The playground looked great if you have kids. Nice laundry, a bit pricey but the Custer Laundry was nice but really pricey. The showers were clean with plenty hot water but very wet. Now the nitty-gritty details. Watch what site you pick. Some are like trenches and we watched some rather large units struggle to get in. Our site was uneven so bring your leveling blocks. When we made our reservations 6 months ahead of time our grandson was 12. He had a birthday so he was 13 when we arrived. They were watching like a hawk when my husband registered and went right to the register to change our 13 year old to the adult price. Our receipt showed $100 more than our original registration quote. I felt like it was a gotcha moment and they were expecting it. I suppose my husband could have lied but we’re not that kind of people. So if you have children, 13 year olds are considered adults.

Nice campground that is located close to popular attractions. Our kids loved the playground. Site was pretty level. Office staff were very nice. Recommend and would stay again

Surrounded by tall pines, some sites are great, some are cramped. Told in advance how big camper was, had to really maneuver between some trees and another parked vehicle. Once parked, no room to set up Clam tent, camper felt like it was in a tank dugout. Electric, water and cable. WiFi was so overloaded, was at office and couldn’t get reliable internet. Bathrooms were so-so. A lot of water on the floor, showers don’t seem to contain very well. Kids played around in the rest rooms more than on the playground. Good place to make your day trips out of and Custer real close for dining, groceries, Ace Hardware, etc.

This is a well-thought-out and well maintained campground. The kids playground is epic. It’s an old western town. There are many pull-through sites that are not all in rows in an open field. They’re wooded. The owner is incredibly helpful and kind. He went out of his way to help our neighbors when they got into a bind backing in. We had a great experience here.

Great campground, close to Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore. Steve the owner is great- we had problems with the cable tv hookup, called the office, Steve was there in a few minutes, he went way beyond great service - checked all of our connections inside our RV, we determined the issue was probably a loose connection inside the rig, we were able to connect with a outside cable. Bathrooms are clean, each bathroom has its own toilet , sink and hot water heater. Lots of trees, feels more like a national park. We would definately stay here again!

Great little campground tucked away in tall evergreen trees. Convenient to Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Wind Cave. Spots are tight; very close to neighbors. Everything at the site - water, electric, sewer was in great shape and great working order. Bathroom facilities are nice, clean, and each area is private which is great. WiFi was really good. Great for overnight. Highly recommend.

Nice people that work and run the campground. We traveled with friends. They had two sites together, but they seperated us by an empty site. Our friends site was fairly decent. Ours was terrible. (Site 8) We were on an embankment, trees so close could not put out awning and sit out side. The site pad was level but the sitting area was on side of hill, like 45 degrees. Muddy from rains. There were other sites that were empty. Just made no sense why they would rent out this site. Needs work! Won't stay here again.

We mostly Boondock and when staying in an RV Park want to get what we pay for (really good wi-fi, cable TV and excellent bathrooms/showers). Looked at lots of reviews and ratings vs. price for area and went with this one thinking we would get that. No cable at water/electric only sites even though just $3 less than full hook-ups. Very weak wi-fi (could not face time and sending photos is slow). Bathrooms would get maybe a 7 out of 10 but late evening when used so maybe not cleaned after a long day. Most sites will require some work to get level. On the plus side, sites are well spaced and lots of trees. Owners and staff are very friendly and helpful.

We stayed a week and loved it! Saw flocks of turkeys, deer and then comfortable to sit out at night and view the stars. The hosts are nice and helpful with very nice facilities. Sites are fairly level and spaced so that you don't notice your neighbors. Enjoyed so much that will be coming back next year for a longer stay.

Nice place, lots of trees makes it a little tough to park but Steve the owner helps get you in. Poor water pressure, average to poor wifi, very good cable tv.
Great location for all the tourist stops. The Black Hills area is beautiful.
