We were looking for a place to stay in the general area while visiting friends in Winnsboro. We're self-contained in our 25 foot MH and don't use the facilities except for an occasional shower. We stayed on a Sunday night in mid-May. We did not have reservations and were easily able to get a site. This is a pleasant SP with 2 CG's - Riverside and Taylor Creek. We stayed at Riverside. The sites were arrayed in 1 large loop. Most were l paved, level and generously sized with a mix of long and narrow, short and wide, back-ins and pull-throughs. The sites are in the trees with a mix of sun and shade and greenery providing privacy for most sites. All sites have electric and water, some have septic. There's a dump station in the park. We were in site #49 and had usable ATT cell service. We camped at Lake Wateree State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Very quiet with lots of views! Beautiful park. Lots of things to do on the water.

Very nice state park. Campground was VERY popular with boaters. Most sites appeared to be fairly level. Paved. Road through campground was a little tight. I saw several 5th wheels and trailers miss turns with their back end. Our site (58) was nice-very shady. Campground was booked solid for the weekend. Plan ahead, but a great place to come if you enjoy lake life.

Very pretty park. The lake was beautiful. Many sites right on the water. My kids liked that because it wasn’t far to go to swim or fish or minnow catch. Nice picnic areas. Clean bathroom. Sites were easy to maneuver. Spots are shady. Was a good spot to stop on our way farther north. We will stop again!
