Camped two nights Tue-Wed Mar 19-20, 2024 with reservations. Nice, quiet peaceful spot on the IC Waterway with access for kayaking, fishing. Clean and well maintained facilities.

Pleasant small campground, well maintained. Bathhouse could use an update. We are in site 10 with a 21’ Coachmen Nova20. 30 amp and water. Fairly level site just used one block on three wheels. Great view of the intercoastal waterway. This is Dec. 7th and the high was 75. McClellenville is 6 miles away quaint coastal village. Went to the Hampton Plantation. It is a must see historic site with 450 year old live oaks. I heard from a local that they will be doing a renovation this spring. So it may be closed for occupancy. Minor bug issues probably due to the warmer temps. We will definitely return in the cooler months!

Great little campsite. We stayed for one night, all sites are large, level and paved. The hostess was super, facilities clean. We’ll stay here again. Motorhome.

Stayed at Buck Hall Recreation Campground for few days before heading north to Myrtle Beach. The campground is about a mile from HWY-17 so access to Charleston (south) and Georgetown (north) is very easy. All sites were long enough for both towing vehicle and trailer. Electric and water hookups are at convenient spots on sites. Dump station and trash bins are looping back into the campground, who the heck design this? All sites are paved like the rest of the park roads. Some sites have good shades due to tall trees, some like our site#12 has partial shade. Between our site is the expansive grass lawn with trees which great for dog walking. Tent sites are on grassy overlooking Intracoastal Waterway river. Boat launch facility with restroom locate at the end of main park road. Picnic area is on the left of the park main road. Grass mowed, road clean, dirty bathroom... what? The bathroom not only out dated, but creamy gunks and brown stains run down toilet bowls and both toilets appear to be clogged. Insect carcasses were sprinkling all over the countertop and on the dirty sinks, the urinals tile floor and shower wall spattered with black dirt, mildew, and old pees. This is the one urinal no one want to stand next to, or be in the same space with the gross toilets without trigger your gag reflex! Sure, the camping price is good, at $20/day for partial hookups, but throw in some dirty bathroom suddenly this is no longer a bargain! We were lucky that our site kept clean by previous campers, we just never seen the host clean up a vacated site. It’s not the National Park fault, it’s lazy camp host that doesn’t do her job! We’ll not come back.

Very peaceful and pleasant campground that's quite easily accessed. It's right on the inlet from the ocean below McClellanville so a number of seafood boats will pass by, which is fun to watch. The bathhouse leaves a little to be desired - just one shower and it's all quite outdated, but otherwise this is a good campground.
