WOW, saw people dumping and wasn’t into a holding tank or at the designated dump station. People’s large dogs running loose, while lead walking my two pups that weigh less than 7 pounds, come up on us while our backs were turned. Dog poo all over the grounds. The grounds are unkept and the clover with hidden ant piles were higher than our pups. The big party campgrounds upon arrival departed Sunday after keeping us up two nights in a row partying until the early morning hours. No gaurd at the fraud shack so all people have to do is have one DOD ID and they can give their gate number to everybody and his brother to come join the party. You can easily tell none have military IDs. This place is totally out of control. No oversight or enforcement of the rules. We prepaid for a 14 day stay and have only made it through the first weekend. I cannot even begin to think what our experience may be this coming weekend. We will not be back. There is no pride here and definitely not much pride in the visitor we have encounter so far. I would not recommend to anyone and we will not be back to this facility. And to think I drug my 87 y/o dad (retired army) and 78 y/o mom here to spend a fun filled vacation together. I will say the villa they are staying in was clean (good housekeeping) and it appeared to be newly painted although, again, the outside grounds have not had any care in a very long time. We are so disappointed in the Fam Camp and the people visiting here. This kind of abuse of facilities is ridiculous, sad and somewhat heartbreaking. Does anyone even care? We love FamCamps, but this one has a big problem and it reflects on the camp management. Where is the pride?

We have been coming to Short Stay for years…saw a definite change this year. No trimming around your Campsite, no trash pick up either. Cigarette butts and dog poop on our site. Loud parties and people trashing their sites with liquor and beer bottles. Totally out of control. We reported this ..security started patrolling…is this really necessary? We were there during the week before Memorial Day.

The directions getting here were a little off. Basically Hwy 52 to Power House Road. Take the first right onto Old Black Oak Rd then Short Stay Road. The gate is unattended but there’s instructions on what to do. The water edge sites are reservable. Then you check in, go pick your site and go back to the office and complete paperwork. The staff is very nice. Sites are water/electric only with nice dump station. **Caution for Alligators. We had a 4 ft gator walk behind our campsite at about 2:30 pm. Didn’t see anymore on our 3 day stay. Didn’t see the shanties that were reported. It does need some TLC in the areas of road and picnic tables and fire pits. Definitely worth returning.

Spent a month here Sept. 2020 Pro’s- great price, plenty of spaces to choose from, very Secure. Very easy to deal with. Con’s- internet spotty, no sewer, some sites will flood! Some of the long termers look like shanties.

Waterfront campsites are very nice with cable/50amp and H2O. No sewer hook-ups. Check-in was a breeze but note there is a security gate that has a call station when unmanned. General store for incidentals. Rented a car for the week from the local Enterprise and they did deliver the car to the gate. If you don’t like trains and whistles through the night, may not be for you. Overall: nice camp great at exceptional value.

Nice camp for the price. No sewer hookup, have to use dump station. Nice staff, easy check in and small convenience store and tackle shop. Moncks corner is only a couple miles away with everything you might need.

Didn’t realize when we booked for a week there is no sewer at sites. Dump station is available. , fairly nice park with some sunny sites, but most are shaded. Check in was smooth and efficient

Nice spot. If you want a level site, pick a 50 amp site. These are the only concrete spots. Good cable, two bar LTE data from our site. And the store is open 24 hours.
