I blew my rating a few months ago so I鈥檓 adjusting. Back in Charlotte for a week at the KOA. Staff is friendly, professional and actively looking to make the visit a good experience. someone always leads you to your spot if you arrive when the office is open. We were at the pool yesterday with our grandchildren and the lady in the office came out to let us know the lightening was 20 miles away and once it was 10 miles out she鈥檇 have to close the pool. We asked about long term stay and were given good tips which were appreciated as we have not done a long term stay since we started RV鈥檌ng (if that鈥檚 not a word, it should be) during COVID. Literally within walking distance are a grocery and a bar and grill. Gas station is right here too and during our stay has had the lowest gas prices on both sides of the state line. Good laundry with plenty of machines and excellent bathroom and showers. Will be back.

Basic camping done well. Bathrooms clean, up to date; laundry the same. No wifi - said they were getting a 鈥渘ew provider鈥 but I see that has been the story for a while.
I noticed that most campers had to do something for leveling as we did but it wasn鈥檛 too bad.
Amenities minimal - not up to KOA standard. Pool is large and clean - but not heated and is 3ft to 8ft with no steps, just ladders. Does have good seating around the pool. The only thing for kids besides the pool is one outdoor ping pong table and a mini golf course - open from 10am to 6pm when the office closes. The playground has a slide and some strange exercise apparatus including Something that appears to have been meant to be a zip line for adults or older kids but wasn鈥檛 quite finished.
Ok for overnight stay or if you have family in the area or an event that brings you here. If you are happy paying the price for just OK, go for it. It鈥檚 easy to find and easy in and out. Grocery , gas and food within walking distance.

It鈥檚 a campground for overnighters, those with an event or family in the area or long term folks. Staff is friendly. No issue finding the campground or getting in and out. Most Sites are not level but not too difficult to adjust if you鈥檝e brought the right camping supplies to level. Amenities - laundry is large and clean. Pool is large and has good seating around it. It is 3ft to 8 ft with no steps, just ladders. No area for smaller children It is not heated and was very cold from recent rain. There is ping pong and mini-golf outside from 10-6. Playground was not designed for children Appears to be a sort of exercise unit - designed poorly and didn鈥檛 look user friendly for kids or adults. Our athletic 7-year old grandson tried a few things just because he tries everything. Only thing for the 4-year old was a slide. No swings or climbing toys (other than the exercise equipment). Publix next door. Also a bar and a food truck (burgers, salads, fries, etc) and gas station next door. Good for overnight - Just not what was expected from a KOA.

WIFI: most of the time unable to connect and sometimes it doesn芒鈧劉t show up at all. Downloading or sending email impossible. Ridiculous anno 2022. Bathrooms clean. Staff office not really interested: at 09.52 am at office the woman told me I had to wait outside cause they opened at 10.00, I was 8 minutes too early. the man was willing to help.
Ofcourse due to location very noisy early in the mornings on weekdays by traffic. No store, public very close.
I booked two nights but a depressing experience, no atmosphere. Not a worthy KOA. Too much money for what芒鈧劉s offered.

Mike and Cheryl here. We have a 44 foot Class A RV. Here is my review of the campground at Charlotte Fort Mill KOA. Getting to the campground was no problem. The roads in the campground are paved and gravel, but there are some tight turns. The trees seem to all be trimmed, but there is way too many. The campground office was open and everyone was friendly. We were escorted to our site. No problem finding our site. They have no camp store. Check in area is large in size, but entry signs are slightly confusing since they have two entrances. The road signage to our site was good. Our site was 49, a pull thru site with a picnic table and fire pit. There are no good views from any site in this campground. Our site faced the bathrooms. The campground has most sites with way to much tree coverage. We had fallen tree debris all night long. Our site was not level. The site was dry. The site was gravel. Half of the campground is seasonal folk or long term. The seasonal folks are behind a fence and for good reason. There is a bathhouse and it was clean and updated with nice tile. Laundry is large and was descent. There is a pool but closed. The pool is right along a busy road. There is no game room. There is no workout fitness room. There is no restaurant on site, but there are good restaurants in town. You can walk to the publix. The grounds are plain and there is no divide between sites. Sites are very close to each other. There is no cable tv. The Wifi was very bad. Here is the bad. Wifi was bad, no cable, grounds are plain, no vegetation between sites, sites to close to each other, sites are not level. In my opinion for the price we pay for a KOA, they should at least have level sites and Wifi that can at least access email. This KOA is only good for a one night stay. Sites 134 - 136 are the best. I would not come back if I could avoid it. Dream Big, Travel Far, Live Well...

We used location this on a return from Florida to Pennsylvania. Our phone conversations with the staff were great. Very nice people. It was easy to locate and close to our route. The only thing I can say that was not great, was we arrived after dark and had a challenging time finding our space as another camper芒鈧劉s truck was parked in half of our site. The sites are back to back. It was cold so no one was out of their campers for us to see who芒鈧劉s truck it was. I imagine the person that parked in half of our site and moved the picnic table, assumed nobody was going to be coming into that site. Regardless, that芒鈧劉s not good camping etiquette. The rules clearly state to not park in unoccupied sites. We would stay here again as the staff, the location and the cost was great.

We booked this as we were going to be in the area for a wedding and did not want to board our dogs. We needed a concrete pad due to my mobility issues. It is barely a concrete pad. The rest is dirt or gravel. I t barely works for my situation. The sewer hook up we needed was being used by another site, and the hook up was different than any we had seen before. The bathhouse had no accessible showers or bathroom stalls. I couldn芒鈧劉t get my wheelchair in any stalls and no handrails any where.
We were hoping to use the shower as I was not able to step into ours.
Sponge bath it was!
Will be looking for something else in the future.

The owner must have listened to the comments and made improvements. They have a new office building, and the bathroom and showers look new. Very nice playground! The place was very quiet. The WiFi excellent. We were passing through and this was a very nice place for an overnight stay. That being said, I don芒鈧劉t know why anyone would stay in a KOA for a vacation. But it was great for a road trip.
