Great location to visit Newport and the mansions. 6 sites, all are huge! No facilities or office on site. Beach access is impossible. Nice sunsets. Good customer service on the phone. Stayed here in October of 2024

3.50 a foot is the cost in mid may. That’s outrageous

Carrs point campground, Newport Naval Base. Water & electric only (30/50 amp), no sewer hookups . No on-site dump station. Supposedly a dump station at a nearby civilian campsite for a $20 fee. TBD. Six total sites, all waterfront but you cannot see the water due to vegetation. Sites are level, grass was cut, well kept. No fire pits. Commissary and exchange within 15 minutes. Downtown Newport roughly 20 minutes.Naval mini-mart 5 minutes away. No bath house or restrooms. Medium level road traffic adjacent to campsites , traveled early by service members and employees of the base, gets noisy sometimes. Biggest bummer, no on-site/local/convenient dump. Would we stay again, if it was just the two of us, yes, but with kids and grandkids for a total of five, managing grey and black water for an extended stay is a bit of a bummer!
