One thing to note, Google Maps will send you to the wrong (southern) campground even though it says it is the des-Rosiers campground. Apple maps get it right.

Best public campground for our needs. Actually best campground of any sort. 30amp electric, free showers, clean modern washrooms, playgrounds, beaches, great hiking trails, and quiet. All the sites are backin only, but reasonably big and private. And around $30 a night (plus National Parks pass, daily or yearly). Absolutely no negatives.

Beautiful National Park. Nice, large campsites. Great views of the Gulf. Nice beaches for walking.
