We stayed here week of 4th of July. Hillside campground. WARNING: length of sites shorter than advertised. They average smaller. Some overflow parking if you truck doesn't fit in the site. Ranger was super helpful with getting us moved to a reasonable size site. Great lake swimming, and area for kayaks, SUPs, etc. Rentals available. Bathhouses fine, clean, but inside doesn't look as new as the outside. Big commercial sinks for washing, cleaning. We are 34ft long, site 90 worked. Cell service: ATT, Cricket, and PureTalk all worked fine. Used Puretalk and ATT hotspots.

Dam and massive warren of coal mining turned into a well kept park with every park/nature amenity imaginable. Hillside is best for RVs, Lakeside is best for tents. Most of the hillside sites are large and private and many are paved. Bathrooms are modern park bathhouses with kitchen sinks for cleaning dishes. Att/Verzion signal was solid.

We stayed here two nights. We stayed in Hillside campground. The shower houses were great. Nice and clean. The site was a little out of level but good. There’s lots to do with a beach, hiking trails and maybe gravel trail around the lake. The park employees were very helpful. I had two bars AT&T cell service. The hillside campground was quite white the lakeside campground seemed to have more family activity.

This is a great park. Beautiful, good services, level sites, trees everywhere. Historic grounds. (What country today would war agains itself ONLY to free the few, that had no power, vote or control.) They are getting ready for their Festival of Lights starting Nov20 but had them lite both nights we stayed, as they set up this huge display on miles of roads. Spectacular!!
