We had a full hookup site, and I'm glad we did because the shower/bathrooms were disgusting. The restrooms smelled, were dirty, and had mold on the ceiling. Our site was nice, and the local area was great—lots to do. We did get to see many deer who wandered through the campground. The campground was well-patrolled by park rangers, and the people at the headquarters were very nice and helpful. We will be back again based on the beauty of the area and hope in the next year or two that the bathrooms will be updated like State Parks in other states are doing.

I have been visiting Cook’s Forest my entire life. This summer we bought a 24’ Motorhome and the first place we camped was here. It is a state park-no cell service but as far as the natural beauty and trails, this park is very special. Some campsites are more secluded than others but over all a terrific place to camp and hike. Full hook ups and level sites.

Park in poor repair. Gang graffiti in restrooms. Signage to Campground is terrible. We didn’t feel safe here. Booked 2 days in October left after first day. Office closed during regular weekday hours. Tried calling office said to call during regular hours & it was 1:30 pm on Thursday!

Stopped over 8/6/17 to hike native pine forest. Facilities very nice. No internet. Camp sites narrow and tight to access even for 25' Class C motor home due to tall trees. Pine forest nice but not as spectacular as expected. They are showing their age.
