Ranger Ed checked us in and he was a super nice guy. This gentleman even told us which sites were currently available. Wow what a great start! We ended up selecting back-in full hookup site #150 as it is located on the quiet north side of the park. It was quite comfortable. Ed mentioned that cable was available for an extra charge, but this was not necessary as we were able to program 25 over the air TV channels including all of the major networks. The best thing about our site though was the blazing fast and free wifi. WHAT??? This is almost unheard of at a Thousand Trails park. Major score! My AT&T phone had 2 strong bars and my wife's Verizon phone had 2 bars as well. We also spoke to another kind ranger named Matt. All of the staff members were fantastic! The north clubhouse has a laundry area but the fitness center was closed due to Covid. The south clubhouse has free wifi and an indoor pool. The pool looked clean but we didn't try it. There is also a beautiful new tennis court near the ranger station. We also ordered a package during our stay and it arrived with no issues. They normally charge guests $5.00 but we were exempt as our package contained RV parts. The south side has a walking trail that goes to the beach at Lost Creek state park. You have to cross 101 though so be careful. The town of Newport is about 7 miles to the north and it has the closest groceries and shopping. Devil's Churn and Thor's Well are located about 20 miles south and both are highly recommended. If you want to check out the sand dunes then head down to the John Dellenback Dunes Trailhead. It's about a 90 minute drive south but well worth it.

Very clean park although some sites are very tight. Staff were polite and helpful. The pool and store were closed per county COVID rules, but that isn’t their fault. Beach access is on a well marked trail about 5 minute easy walk from the trail head. The dog park was clean with good grass. We had no problem with either Verizon or Att where we were at close to the dog park.
As Thousand Trail members we will definitely be back!

We stayed for a total of 5 weeks in 2019. Loved it! North side and clubhouse has Wi-Fi, and it worked well! Verizon and T-Mobile don't work, but AT&T does. Satellite can be tough depending on where you are in the park, but the park does have cable. So far, this is our favorite TT park and we look forward to spending more time There!

No wi-fi, no TV, no cell service. You better bring a book to read. Sites are small.

This is a very popular Thousand Trails campground. We were there for 4th of July weekend and it was packed! It is a very crowded-feeling campground as there are vehicles parked all over the place on the sides of the roads and gives it a very closed-in feeling. By the time we got there on the 3rd, there were, at most, 2 possible sites available for our 36-foot 5th wheel. We grabbed the first one and had no trouble backing it in. The only WiFi they have is at the clubhouse and there was no Verizon cell service for a couple of miles up the road on the way to Newport. There were a lot of sites that you can tell the RVs have been there for months and months. Our neighbor across the road said that they lease their site and come up frequently from So. Cal. This severely limits the sites available to vacationers and sort of defeats the usefulness of our TT membership. Overall we weren’t very impressed, but would possibly stay again if in the area IF we continue buying the TT membership.

OMG, Dana from Thousand Trails rocks. Not only did she find us a spot on a busy week. When we arrived she handed us a sheet with every site listed - how long the site is, fire pit and best of all - if your satellite will work on a tripod or roof mount or not at all. I wish other campground would do this. Safes a lot of time scooping out sites. Thank you Dana for an absolutely awesome job.
