No hot water in bathhouses, ever. Crowded, dark, bugs. Our site in a mud bog. One dump station and it smelled awful. One dumpster. Beach is gorgeous. Won't ever go back.

We stopped here while visiting the Oregon coast and planned to stay 2 nights, but left after 1. Very crowded, busy roads, our site was right by the bath house so lots of foot traffic too. There are some very nice sites that back to vegetation, but not ours. The best part was the beach. There are 1/4 mile, 1/3 mile and 1/2 mile walkways to the beach. The ranger told me as long as our dogs were in control they could run free on the beach. They loved it!

This State Park feels more like commercial resort - sites are close to each other, less privacy, etc. The most annoying thing - for a mile long campground there's only one dumpster at entrance. Also they have "hospitality center", but we were unlucky and could't get any information about area, as mostly volunteers play a role of cashiers for yourts rentals there. T-mobile has 1-2 bars LTE and Verizon has 5 bars.

We love coming to South Beach State Park. We usually always stay when we are camping in OR. Lots of campsites but it does not feel crowded. Lots of great trails to the beach and you can ride or walk all the way back into town. It's a great state park. We will be heading there again to camp this year for our 3rd time as we spend three weeks camping for our vacation.

Like noted by others trees overhanging our spot scrapped on the roof and prevented opening awning and one slide. The park ranger Adam was super allowing us to change location and trimmed branches for us. My main problems, only one clean out station for a giant park with several hundred spots and only one trash location at the entrance. We were in the park the end of May into the first of June the Mosquitos were unbearable! We could not go outside in the evening and opening the door resulted in them in the unit all night. Park is really showing it's age. We were in a 37 ft class A motorhome.

This state campground is the worst one i have ever stayed in, it is living in the dark ages, great place for a tent trailer or pickup and camper, but way to brushy for a larger motor home, the park people have no idea where they are putting you for the convenience of parking a larger motor home, had to have limbs cleared to get out after scratching up sides while parking, won't be back!!
