Mike and Cheryl here. We have a 44 foot Class A RV. Here is my review of the campground at Lake Placid / Whiteface KOA. Getting to the campground was no problem. All roads good. The roads in the campground are mostly gravel and dirt. They need to be smoothed out. The roads create a lot of dust when used. The trees are trimmed OK. The campground office was open and everyone was friendly. We were escorted to the site. They have a large camp store. Large parking area is provided while checking in. The road signage to our site was good. Sites have fire pits and they sell firewood. Our site was M26, a pull thru site with a picnic table. The campground has mostly shaded sites which shed tree debris all over your motorhome. Our site was not level. We had to use a whole set of wheel blocks. The site was dry. The site was gravel, but most sites are dirt. The campground has no seasonal folks. The bathhouse was poor. Laundry was OK. There was a small pool but it was not very inviting. There was a game room, but you have to pay for everything like pool, air hockey, fuss ball. There is no workout fitness room. There is no restaurant on site, but the campground is close to town. Cable TV service is available and good. Wifi was available but very very poor. No road noise to note. Our site was narrow and our awning hit the tree branches. Our site looked right into the bathhouse. We had to shut our front visor so we did not see everyone using it. Here is the bad. Roads are rough and dusty. Site was narrow, not level and faced the bathhouse. Wifi was very very poor. Cell service (Verizon) was bad. Tree debris was terrible. Maybe sites M27, D4, D5, D6, C4 & C5 would be good. I may come back, but not during springtime (early June). Dream Big, Travel Far, Live Well...

Expansive, well kept campground next to Whiteface Ski Area and the Ausable River. We stayed on a three way site in mid May, 2021. This KOA is in the heart of the Adirondacks, close to Lake Placid. There are many hiking, biking, fishing, and sightseeing opportunities nearby. The Flume Falls area adjacent to the campground offers a selection of trails and views. The facility is clean, quiet, and sites are more than adequate. Staff is friendly and there are lots of amenities . We are very pleased and would return.

Overall a great experience. We were a two camper caravan and they quickly got us to our site and told us to come back and register, very organized. A lot of activities and good snack bar on site. Numerous clean restrooms throughout the park, only drawback is the restroom near the front was on the second floor so you had to climb stairs. Nice pet walking trail. Due to wooded environment somewhat dusty but not too bad. WiFi where we stayed (near the front) was spotty. AT&T Cell service was also sporadic. Would stay here again.

Nice park in the woods, with more refined services like restaurant, pool etc. Like camping in the woods, with dirt pads. Needs more gravel but fairly level and with all utilities. We arrived about 6:30pm and was to have night guard to take us to our sight but he was no where to be found.

One of thee best campgrounds we've been to this side of the Mississippi ! Very clean bathrooms and facility. Lots to do for kids with a basketball court, pool, kiddie fountain, playground, arcade, giant outdoor chess board, tv room with movies. Breakfast every morning, snack shack with ice cream, poppers, burgers, onion rings, pizza, wraps and more!!
Great store & gift shop as well. Located near Whiteface Mountain, North Pole, Lake Placid...fly fish in the famous AuSable river, bike, hike on hundreds of trails, camp and shop.
