Champs Campground is the perfect campground for the type of camper that pulls in for an overnight or maybe a weekend. It is good for the type of camper that parks and stays in your RV. The owners really like it if you visit the restaurant they have opened on site. Go have dinner, then return to your RV with the ac on and the doors closed. Don't mind the patrons of the restaurant that go flying by to get to or leave the restaurant. The owners don't have an issue with them doing it. Just make sure that you do not speed as you will have the owner making it very clear what the speed limit is. If, you have children please make sure that they stay on your site at all times. Riding a bike on the roadway is ok, I just wouldn't allow it when the restaurant is open. I would not want to see something happen to a child.

Sparse accommodations, but nice enough for a stop along the journey. The owner seemed very nice at first, but midway through our stay got very upset with us because our kids were venturing outside of our own campsite. Perhaps he isn't used to accommodating families? After that, he didn't return phone calls or speak to us for the remainder of our stay. We enjoyed the town of Whitehall, and it was a great home base to visit Ft. Ticonderoga and wonderful hiking around Lake George.

Ive been staying at Sal's camp ground for several years now. We have our annual club fishing tourny at South Bay in Champlain and as a club we have stayed at that camp ground for over 8 years now However since Sal took it over there have been Huge improvements for the better. Great accomodations, Very friendly service and he keeps it very clean. I cant reccomend it high enough, Just wish all the places I stay at during my tournament trail travels were as nice as this one.

Recently took the "tour" of the resort. I was very skeptical, but pleasantly surprised by my experience. And unlike other experiences I have had in the past, I actually received a $50 visa gift card and 30 days of free camping. VERY HAPPY with my experience. Would suggest that anyone give it a shot.
