Scenic rocky canyon setting. Small campground has about 20 sites, nearly all with water and electric. Modern shower house that requires 25 cents. Ramadas for shade. Good WiFi available for a small fee. Historic CCC building, pool, gardens, hiking trails—plenty to amuse you for an overnight visit.

What a nice campground! 16 spaces all with water and electric. 10 of them are back-in. 6 were easy pull-in along the road. Easy peasy! We were worried that with no reservations , there might not be room for us. But we arrived at noon on a Monday and had lots of choices. Several others arrived by 5:00 and there were still plenty of spaces. Although the pics looks dry and dusty, there were shade trees on most sites and shady Ramada’s on all sites. The gardens and pools at the end of the road were a lovely surprise. A nice get-away. We hope to go back some day.

Great camp ground in the soon to be Mountain Bike mecca of Caliente. Trails are currently being professionally designed and built. Camp ground sites are also being up-graded to electric and water Spring of 2019. Rainbow Canyon drive (19m) is well worth it. Apparently,the Park Ranger can arrange a tour of the Elgin school house. We enjoyed a fantastic custom crafted pizza at the Sidetrack in Calienti.

Nice, quiet, well-kept. One or two full hookups. Couple hiking trails, pool, horse shoe pits, and nice gardens. Worth a day.
