We were looking for a place to stay in the general area that would be convenient to explore Hay River. We're self-contained and don't use the facilities except for an occasional shower. We stayed on a weeknight in mid-July in our 8 metre (25 foot) MH.
This is a nice park in great location. It's located at the mouth of the Hay River where it enters the Great Slave Lake with great views from the beach. The staff is helpful and friendly. The park is clean. There are 3 loops: B loop sites are back-ins and we did not see this loop. Loops A and C are all pull-throughs with electric. The newer sites (C8-C18) are slightly larger with 15/30 amp service. We stayed in a new site. The new sites are level, gravel, partly shaded, and spacious, providing good privacy. The older sites have more mature trees and are more shaded. There is a new shower building and laundry which we did not see. We had good ATT and Verizon cell coverage while roaming on Bell.
The CG is 7 km (4 miles) from the center of Hay River. The CG includes a swim beach with an historical interpretive boardwalk trail and a playground.
