Very nice park. Nice bathrooms and many sites have water views. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a very nice campground. It is in a good location for exploring the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site and the villages of Louisbourg and Gabarus. It is also a 20 minute drive from the port city of Sydney. About 30 EW sites are in a large open circular, grassy area while the loops with unserviced sites are more private, in the trees. We visited in mid-September and there were about only 10 sites occupied. The bathroom facilities were clean, with hot showers (albeit the single push button type), hot water and soap dispensers at the sinks, paper towel dispensers and (currently out-of-order) forced-air hand dryers. It was late in the season when we stayed, so the check-in kiosk was closed and they revert to a self-registration system that involves picking up a yellow phone and talking to an agent who will assign your site. One unusual ‘feature’ of this campground is that there is a small, well-tended Catholic cemetery in the park. I wonder what the interesting history behind this is.

Wonderful park with large large ,treed sites, along the Mira River . Nice beach for swimming.
Easy access to Sydney and Louisbourg.
