Dump still using Covid as excuse for no bathrooms and maintenance of property, noise an issue all night the people rating this higher than one must be living there full time which there are a few.

The pull through sites can accommodate a big rig with ample space for parking toad. The park roads and RV spots are in major disrepair and are gravel and sand. The bath/laundry was closed due to COVID but accessing them would not have been easy or enjoyable. The pool, though not advertised was overgrown both inside and out with weeds and brush. The traffic noise both road and rail was crazy. Not many choices in Scottsbluff for a short stay.

Sites are dusty but shady. Not too close to other campers. Full hookups. Wifi not too good but doable. Trains a little irritating but night time was only one or two if that. The price is great and the hostess was great too. Would for sure stay again. We stayed in a 38 ft 5th wheel.

Traveling in a 40 ft Motorhome with a toad.
PRO’S: Can’t beat the price of $28.00. Staff super friendly.
CON’S: Dusty and litter on grounds. Trees/shrubs need attention and only a few spaces for big rigs. Park on active railroad tracks and horns blow when they go by. Didn’t bother me, but may bother some.
Again, can’t beat the price and we only stayed overnight.

It rained the night I was there & naturally in the morning the unpaved roads in the campground were very muddy - UGG. Owner shared that paving them is on the list for future improvements. Thus a 4 instead of a 5.

We found a gem at Captain Critters campground. Sue the owner is a delight. Since purchasing this park over a year ago, she has made significant changes and upgrades. The only negative would be the train coming through blowing its whistle, if you are a light sleeper, it may be a problem. For us we slept well, and the park was quiet. We stayed 2 nights and would be back for another stay when back this way. The sites are fairly level, WiFi was great, water delicious, and electric (50amp) had no problems, as the temps were over 103 when we arrived in our 40foot motorhome. The park has mature trees and the grounds still need work to manicure the grass/weeds. It wasn’t a problem, we have stay and seen a lot worse.

I stayed at Captain Critters Country Campground at the beginning of December for two nights. We were told it was recently bought by new owner who is in the process of renovating. The pull through campsite was adequate for our camper. I spoke with the owner who said that new updated electrical terminals were recently installed along with a new water system. We definitely had adequate water pressure which was better than some of the other more popular campgrounds in the area. The owner recently put in a nice public bathroom with large shower, vanity and toilet. Extra clean bathroom. Couldn't pass that up to have a long shower.. The campground is still a work in progress and some things still need to be updated, but we will definitely be back to check on the progress.. Also the price was really good due to renovations.

Think this was a KOA from the looks of it. Better now with a lower price than those ripoff corporate wigs. Nice and clean. Good location.
