Update from 2021: Walnut Creek is still our best option when visiting family in the Omaha area. It is a small county campground, tucked in behind residential homes, near the Storm Chaser's baseball field and a music ampitheater, on a reservoir for walking. Electric only, both 30/50 amp. Water and sanitary station available. Animal friendly. It was busy midweek, 7/23-25. A good value at $20.00/night, camp host available and helpful.

Not many options near Omaha and this is a winner. Electric only but water and dump available in park. We arrived late on the 2dt of July and only a 30 amp was available. It was hot on the 4th and 50 amp would have been nice but we manage. Very attractive county park, nicely spaced sights, helpful camp host. Highly recommend, will stay again to visit family in Omaha. 30 minutes to downtown but lots of retail near park.

Very nice and secluded area. Easy walk to lake where you can walk or bike on a 3 mile loop. Well maintained with electric only at each site but water and dump are both on site.

This park works perfect for our 3 nite stay in the Omaha area. The park itself is beautiful with nice privacy at most sites. Concrete pads were level. Unfortunately we did not get a50 amp spot but we are doing fine with the 30 amp. At least it's just in the 80's. We would stay here again. Great Verizon signal and near the Stormchasers ballfield.

Beautiful park located in a convenient Papillion/Omaha vicinity. The app info. is incorrect - there are NO Showers and toilet is pit type. The sites are spaced far apart and hills and knolls give added privacy. We were unlucky to be here when they were having an outdoor concert at the adjacent pavilion. It IS a city park after all.

Update: Had to add to my recent review. After our first night with the atrocious summer concert next door at the outdoor pavilion we met with another unexpected occurrence. This is a beautiful wetland city park intended to preserve natural habitats and provide recreation. We were shocked to find maintenance staff drenching the grounds including the PLAYGROUND with cancer-causing RoundUp herbicide. When confronted with this policy the manager completely disregarded our concerns and promised to not spray our particular slab. We immediately packed up and went to the Eugene Mahoney State Park farther south. A healthier and shadier alternative.

Clean, concrete pads, picnic table, grill, quiet. Walnut Creek campground and lake are in an upscale suburban area. There is a nice concrete fitness trail around the lake. Electric hookups only but water and dump in the campground. Trash is pack in/pack out. We could pick up local TV on antenna. We were here in July 2013 to watch a Stormchasers ball game. We would definately stay here again.
