We had a nice campsite close to the river, made for beautiful sunset views. Bathrooms were good. The park is very scenic.

Stayed here one night Sat Sep 24, 2022 w/o reservations. Half of the sites are first come first served and there was plenty availability mid-day, but seemed to fill up later. Campsites had decent spacing and privacy, although right along side the roadway. New bathrooms with flush toilets but no showers. No dump station but fresh water filling station available. Scenic area of the Badlands with hiking opportunities and scenic drives. Buffalo all over the place!

Beautiful. Remote. Primitive, no hookups or services of any kind. Come w/empty waste tanks and full water tanks. Be prepared to make your own shade, some of the sites are sunny and hot. This is an amazing park. Not to be missed.

Beautiful NP campground. Sand/dirt sites. One loop is all pull through, another is all back ins. Some of the pull through sites can accommodate big rigs. Some of the back in sites are small and could only accommodate a class B or other small rig. If making reservations, choose your site carefully. Sites are partially shaded and fairly well separated. No hookups as to be expected at a NP. More importantly, NO DUMP! We arrived will full tanks expecting to dump on arrival. Instead, we had to drive all the way back to Medora to dump at a local campground. The camp host gave us directions on where to go, which was a big help, although it it took at least 30 minutes round trip since the road in & out is so slow. Really enjoyed the park!

Immediately at entry to the park we saw Buffalo. Picturesque entry into the campground. Stayed in the group site and easily fit 31’ class C and 17’ travel trailer plus vehicles. No hook up or electricity but that was the point for this stop over. Wish we had more time to explore.

Concur with other reviews. August 22, 2019 was full in South Unit but not North Unit. Spaces varied in quality but generally fine. Beautiful park but remote - Mefota offers limited services do go prepared. Ranger walks and talks very well done.

Very basic. No amenities. Beautiful. South loop is back in only and tents. North loop has pull throughs. Get there early. It fills quickly.

Very nice and spacious national park campground for $14. Come early to get a spot. Filled up by 11(on a Sa in June). Good value. Minimal cell phone service 4G with T-Mobile.
