Stayed here three nights Thur-Sat Sep 15-17, 2022 w/o reservations; lots of open sites. The main attraction here is fishing Devils Lake and it appeared that some fishermen were catching fish. It was cool and rainy while here so didn't get the kayaks out but did fish from shore without any success. Showers/bathrooms were clean and modern. Campsites in the Howard Loop were large and private. The park is spread out and there were lots of hiking opportunities.

Beautiful park. I was passing through so stopped just for the night, but super popular with boats. Humid, lots of chirping insects at night. Stayed in a Howard Campground site that was very private.

Beautiful park, large lake with fishing and a fish cleaning table nearby and fishing supplies in the main building. Pull thru sites are a great way of spacing people out but ours was not really level. Bring your bikes, the park is pretty large. A seagull may come visit you to see if you dropped anything by the fire ring. There were plenty of vault toilets and a separate bath house with 2 showers and 3 regular toilets which were clean. There were playgrounds here for younger kids and an outdoor amphitheater area which was not open due to Covid restrictions. I’d stay here again but would try to get a closer site to the lake.

Very pretty and clean state park. We stayed in the Howard Loop, which I recommend. The sites are huge, private and have lots of trees (compared to FHU at LaRose, more open and parking lot feel). Some sites are not level, be prepared for that. Nice walking trails and lots of fishing, if you’re into that. Overall, super happy with the place!

Gorgeous large wooded sites. We enjoyed privacy and the beauty of Devils Lake. Brought our bikes for a nice ride along the lake. We stayed in Site 127 in the West Howard campgrounds.
