Nice little park directly at the spillway. Passcode controlled gate into the rv area. All sites in the shade. Good Verizon signal.

nice little park. Our trip was sooner than expected due to our daughter-in-law going into labor early and the managers helped us out tremendously to get us a slot for the week and a half we stayed. The bath house isn't a Holiday Inn Lodge but its clean and nice enough. Only reason I didn't give is 5 stars because, well its not perfect but its also only $20/night or $100/week. Its all gravel and some of the slots are kind of tough to back into but anybody thats pulled a trailer enough can manage with no problem. Ours is a 2021 Cherokee 274BRB and I had to back up hill a little but it wasn't a problem.

Campground alright fire pits need a little work. Bathrooms and showers were the worst we have ever experienced. Heater broken in mens washroom, a couple of light fixtures broken, only one showerhead out of 3 showers, and paint peeling so bad you were washing with paint chips on your wash cloth. Women's was exactly the same except heat was working.

I agree with Xatlatc --- price for location and shady full-hookup is great. No view of lake from most sites and even from the couple nearest, have to view through a rusty chain link fence. Site 15 is very long pull-through but has hookups about 30 ft from the shady part. Not sure about safety since at registration, I was given the police number to call in case of difficulty. Never had that in 20 years of RVing. Some tree branches brushed my slideout but city workers came within a couple days to trim nicely. I would stay again -- 10 minutes from downtown Shelby and 30 minutes from Gastonia.

Four stars mainly because of the $20.00 fee with full-hook ups! Nice view of the lake. Some pull-thru sites for large rigs. Roads and sites are crushed gravel. Most appear to be fairly level. Verizon coverage 2-3 dot LTE. No park wifi that I know of at the moment. Shower house is average to slightly above. Sites aren't real private but you're not crammed in either. Most have good shade. Again, for $20 and in a safe and convenient location this place is a deal.
