First and foremost, the people working this campground are so nice and quite helpful. This review has nothing to do with them. This is a corporate, multi-location campground. They are not as focused on positive campers' experience that most individually owned campgrounds are. The main bathroom is outdated and not clean. Good water pressure. Most of the sites have rocks for the fire pit, not great if you plan on cooking over it. No opinion of the recreational amenities as we didn't use them. You have to pay for a good internet signal. We did not and our service was minimal. You will be offered via text to extend your checkout by one hour, for a fee. We came away with the feeling that this campground is focus more on the money it makes and not the experience it offers. I don't mind golf cart use, but this campground allowed young children to operate them. We witnessed a near accident when a cart couldn't make it up a super steep hill and coasted down backwards out of control. It was operated by a child. Some sites have gravel, some mostly dirt. Our site was not level.

NOTE: This is now HIDDEN CREEK CAMPING RESORT
This former Jellystone Park is a bit odd. If you want a get away with kids - it's probably great. No Verizon cell service and no wifi. The lake is a pond and the creek is a ditch - just fine for children to play. For an extra fee guests can buy a wrist band to gain access to a couple of boats, mini golf, a swimming pool and a very impressive water slide! My kids would have had a great time with that. They seemed to have one free organized activity for wrist band wearers in the pool every day and one craft type activity every day for an additional fee. They have an arcade and a snack bar. For adults without kids like us it was neither pretty nor interesting. It was frustrating to not be able to just play one round of mini golf without paying for a whole day of kiddie fun. Our site was level of packed gravel and sand. We had full hook up. There was essentially no shade. There are a large number of permanent trailers here and they are in the sites with shade. The bath house is clean and modern. Laundry facility was in good working order.

We stayed the week of October 18th 2015. It is a little tight and downhill coming in to the campground but never scrapped the fifth wheel. We stayed on Lakeside and was one of the more easily accessible to set up. If you stay in one of the big rig sites it is uphill from the main area.
The staff was very friendly and kept the grounds up and clean. We will come back again because it is a good central point to camp so you can go to the Biltmore (45 minutes away) Grandfather Mountain, Mt Mitchell,Chimney Rock, Blue Ridge Parkway.Great for the kids as they have tons of things to do.
