Mike and Cheryl here. We have a 44 foot Class A RV. Here is my review of Buck Creek RV Park First l want to say the campground has done a great job of recovery since hurricane Helene. They still have more work, but they are looking and doing great.
Road to: Good.
Road inside: Gravel and in good condition.
Trees: All well trimmed.
Check in: Medium size office short distance from entrance. Everyone was friendly.
Parking: Medium size parking area.
Seasonal campers: Yes, but everyone has a nice place.
Signage: good
Site 65: Gravel pad, but level. Had table and fire pit. Very private.
View: Big view of the open meadow, and the grounds are nice.
Site spacing: Good
Bathhouse: Did not use.
Laundry room: Small but nice.
Swimming pool: None, but they do allow swimming in the river.
Club house: no.
Fitness area: no.
Grounds: Good.
TV: None.
Wifi: Did not use.
So here is the bad: None. Several sites have been destroyed from the hurricane right along the river. They are doing a great job bring the campground back to it beauty.

Buck Creek is a family run park with the majority of sites backed up to Buck Creek. Most sites sit amongst the trees, which is good for shade/bad for a clean rig. Sites vary and are not created equal. A pre-inspection visit is recommended so you know which sites will work for you and your set up. All sites are along the perimeter of 46 acres with the majority of acreage being left to open fields.
It may be worth noting that the center open fields are used for RC Plane flying. I say this because, if you have a frequency sensitive dog, like we do, it will bother them.
This is NOT a resort. This is a seasonal family campground with the main attraction being the creek (tubing and fishing).
Cell Service is limited, especially for data. Their WiFi is actually good, but I recommend a site in close proximity to their many wifi transmitters. Weekends bring a noticeable reduction to functional connection. Another reason to pre-inspect a location, if possible. Cable is available at most sites, but it is a bit convoluted with only one remote for all TVS, which means all TVs watch the same thing.
Helpful, friendly, management that are not constantly enforcing rules and monitoring campers. Don't be afraid of the "no alcohol" rule. It is meant to keep alcohol consumption to the privacy of your own rig and site. We've never had an issue. Direct location to HWY80, however...know that it is known as "Devil's Whip" and is not recommended for less than proficient motorcyclists. This provides direct access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and convenient access to: Mt. Mitchell, Crabtree Falls, Little Switzerland, etc.
Plenty of area for dogs to play and also explore off leash away from the campground population.
Bath house and laundry are functional and clean, but could be updated.

We stayed three days in the mid - week in April, very quiet, the owner (who was great) said weekends can be busy. Full hook ups, gravel sites and good Wi-Fi. Good roads for our 5w. The park is centrally located for all kinds hiking, waterfalls and parks. Our site overlooked the river and rushing sound was relaxing. Would stay again. Be sure to go visit Grandfather Mountain.

Nice quiet campground, easy access to every site. Beautiful creek running by most of the sites & you have 2 access points to the creek for tubing! Friendly & helpful staff. Would highly recommend staying here.

One of the most scenic campgrounds we’ve stayed in. Many sites are occupied by seasonal campers. Very shady but often tight spots next to a scenic mtn stream. Swimming holes and tubing behinds campers. Our rear dinette window offered beautiful view of woods and stream. Cool nights allowed us to sleep with windows open and the sounds from the stream. Quiet neighbors. Fantastic owners. Looking forward to another visit.

Great place. Clean & safe. A lot of full timers but lots of space. Great swimming holes and open fields. Shade.

Nice campground. Recommend site on creek. Most spots are taken by weekenders and a few full timers, but all rv's are nice, and so were the people. Not your typical full timers park. Mgmt is picky about who he lets stay full time and it's evident. Sites are pretty level and are gravel. Couldn't get dish network. Close to small town with hugh rv store. Would come back again.
