We had looked at the reviews before staying but had a strong recommendation for the park. Staff were very polite and helpfully. We parked in overflow for $15. Great so far. Where the reviews are correct is the bath house. Since this is not a gated base we believe various folks use the facilities. None of the 4 private shower/baths were clean. One was not even functional even using a plunger in the shower drain. As for the site it is set perfectly between Cape Fear river and the ocean. Bath house improvements are a must.

After staying here in the campground & housing we were very disappointed in the lack of customer service. We made reservations months ago but when we arrived we found they had moved us from a full hook up site to a site with no sewer & the elec hookup 74 ft away from the pad. The water was another 66 ft from the site. The customer service reps were very rude and called me a liar when I explained this wasn't the site I reserved. Having camped for the last 20 years I am familiar with making reservations. The campground has had no serious maintenance in years. The falling apart buildings around the campground is sad.

Beautiful location with river on one side and ocean on the other. Staff very friendly and helpful. Sites very well maintained. We went Memorial Day weekend 2016 and will be back. Deer all over the place in the evenings and a joy to watch. Recommend getting early reservations for holidays. Golf carts go fast so recommend reserving with site.

Nice enough location, but unless you have self-contained shower and bath facilities in your RV, stay elsewhere. No soap or paper towels or even hand sanitizer in the main toilet building, and the shower mats are deplorable. It is not a factor of the age of the facility. The main RV sites are all on a small cul-de-sac with no views. Overflow sites are much prettier. Unlikely to return.

It is a nice place but I have to give it a low rating because of how rude and unfriendly the office satff is. we have been here at least ten times since 2010 and most of the staff is okay( not great just okay) but one lady is rufe to everyone..She will try and talk over you. Get loud, and try to make it seem like you don't know what you are yalking about when she doesn't have a clue. This week she was convinced that we had to have two spaces becauae of out slide out on our RV. We have stayed here 3 other tines with the same *RV and twice on the space in qiestion. She is not a happy person thats for sure, evwn after she saw we had plenty of room on the spot we got. We like this spot but are considering going somewhere else next time, because complaining about(for at least 2 yrars) has accomplished a thing

We camped here last week (22-25 July 2013) and had a blast! We didn't realize how much there is to do. They just got stand up paddle boards the day before we left. We had so much fun that this will probably be our annual vacation spot. Other than deer hitting the feeder all night long and being invaded by raccoons (we stayed un tents), it was an awesome vacation! Next year, we plan to rent a cottage and stay a week. Btw, they're tearing down the old cottages and building new ones.
The activities that the rec center offer are pretty great! We can't wait to go back!
