Will not stay here again. My AC went out in the RV with a heat index of 110°. My site had limited shade and I travel with an elderly dog. I inquired about a cabin instead, requesting that the amount for my site be applied to a cabin cost for the next 2 nights. The young lady at the front desk refused and even charged my credit card $260 without my approval just for the inquiry. She cancelled it, but was rude. Very disappointed. I really expected a nice stay and the lady that checked me in when I first arrived was very nice, but apparently not everyone that works there is accommodating. I ended up leaving early, loosing a night’s stay and $100 for the safety of me and my pet.

A nicely laid out busy campground with a multitude of site options. I was assigned on on the second row back from the Sound. It was fine for our two day stay as a 100 foot walk took us to the water’s edge. The bathhouse was also about that distance and was clean and modern. The pool looked inviting but not used by me. Plenty of families, kids and dogs enjoying themselves this summer. A nice restaurant right at the campground entrance and walkable from my site. Discounts are available but must be asked for and card shown. Also a $10 pet fee which was charged but is supposed to be refunded to my CC as I have a service dog. We will see. Priced in the mid $70/night range. Everything is going up these days. I would be back if traveling the Outer Banks again. Traveling solo in a 25’ Sprinter Class C

Pros:Campground offers sound or canal from sites? As well as site shaded in the woods. It’s close to the ocean side beach and convenience stores for little stuff. Most days you can watch kite boarders in the sound. Because you are facing north you get views of both the sun rises and the sunsets. It’s absolutely stunning. Staff are friendly and helpful. Have not seen pool or bath houses. Cons: there aren’t many but I suppose not every one has a 4 wheel drive for the sound front sites the road has some soft sand. But they did warn me when I booked. That’s it for pros and cons. We have chilled here for several 7plus day trips, and have never left unhappy. Will be back again and again.
