Friendly staff, clean bathhouse, washer/dryer available. I have a campervan, I got the tent site with water and electricity. Perfect for me, very close to the bathhouse F

The lake looks like an awesome places in season, wake boarding ramps and a nice beach. Full hookups and very clean bathhouse. Gravel road to sites and a few steep hills to get to sites. Our site was concrete芒鈧ooked like most of if not all were concrete slabs. Water, power, sewage were all perfectly located. There is no gate to get to sites (not attached to base). Before going down first big hill the check-in is in the big building on your left. After hours there is a mailbox at the bottom of first hill to get your site# and INFO. Might be a different process in-season when busy.
Overall great trails to walk/run. The base and museums are pretty close (15-20). Upon checking in the staff was friendly and provided an event calendar and things happening in area.

Campground is quiet and off the beaten path. Enjoyed the sounds of freedom and loved seeing our service members practicing flight maneuvers. Didn芒鈧劉t use the facilities. Stayed in two different sites this visit. #21 by the lake was beautiful and much quieter but didn芒鈧劉t have sewer connection. Site #2 had full connections but not private or quiet at all (lots of walking and drive by traffic). Staff was friendly, professional and helpful. Will stay again.

This is a great little campsite. Off the beaten path. About 15-20 miles off of 95. The shower facility is great. Nice and clean. Nice and warm! Our area had 6 private bathrooms each with a sink, shower, toilet, soap dispenser and air hand dryer. When I tried to wash my face it took a LONG time for the water to heat up. But eventually it got warm enough to wash with. There芒鈧劉s no Wi-Fi but that芒鈧劉s not what we芒鈧劉re here for.
Out spot has a concrete pad. Pull thru with plenty of space. Pretty level too... The roads into the park are dirt / crushed stone and a bit rough. Yes, 10mph speed limit for a reason! I walked the pup and there are plenty of dirt paths to keep him sniffing. Looking up and the stars are bright and vivid (no light pollution). We heard a helicopter earlier. A bit loud, but this is an active base and that芒鈧劉s to be expected. Personally, I like being 芒鈧搃n the middle of nowhere.芒鈧 Ms. WT on the other hand doesn芒鈧劉t. Therefore, 芒鈧搘e芒鈧 don芒鈧劉t like it and will only be spending one night. As I said, this is a great little RV park. Make sure that you bring food etc.., as there芒鈧劉s no camp store and it芒鈧劉s a few miles to town.

Very nice and quiet, off the beaten path and in the woods near a beautiful lake. Bath house had the cleanest facilities of any camp we've visited. Check in was easy pizy. For $25 per night you get a full hookup and pull through site. There are grocery stores within a few miles which is nice. Visit the Army airborne and special ops museum if you get the chance. Very interesting.

Class A, 37芒鈧劉. Easy pull through, staff was very helpful with reservations over the phone. Many types of sites for poor Throughs/5th wheels/tent sites and cabins. Bathrooms are clean and updated with private shower stall. The playground and picnic area is a great place for families. Play ground is covered with shade and wheelchair accessible.

Paved pull through lots, level dirt back ins. Bathrooms were clean and warm with it being 30 degrees outside. Several options where to park (by the lake, or on the hill). Walking trails near the sites were nice for the dog. The campground is in the middle of nowhere so pick up supplies before you arrive. Wall mart is only 15 min away. Overall I would return.

Class A, 37' - Traveling through the area ... Smith Army RV Park is very nice... concrete slab (be careful, as not all are level and require blocks), decent bathhouses, and nice folks. Grounds are super well maintained. Yes, this is an army base and you may hear some helicopter noise at night, even late into the night and early morning hours...didn't mind or bother me at all. Would definitely use again!

First I would like to say that I don't know what it would take to please some people. I have stayed in military rv parks accross the country and Smith Lake ranks up there. It gives you a State Park feel but most of the sites have very large level concrete pads with full hook-up, 30/50 amp service. You can see the lake from most of the sites and the park is well maintained. If you are one of those people that must find fault with something, I'll give you a few so you can complain. Check-in is at 1500 hrs which is advertised. How about that, having a rule and sticking to it. How military. ??. Most sites don"t have fire rings but how many places have you stayed that every site has rings. Some but not all. Lastly, the noise of the helicopters and shelling. Can you imagine the gall of an active Army base interupting your solitude with real life mission training. If it weren't for all of our military training bases maybe we wouldn't have the luxuary to travel around in our fancy RVs. All I can say is it makes me proud to stay at a base rv park. HooRah!!!
