We have visited this campground from when it first became a koa. Every year it keeps getting worse. First up keep of the campground is horrible. Sites are not taken care of and the bugs are out of control. The staff are extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. Water pressure is nonexistent. Could not even flush out my tanks after dumping them. Went to go breakfast one morning and it was like I was bothering the young woman. If she doesn’t like her job find another one. It will be the last time we will camp there. It’s a shame because the views are really great. This KOA needs new management. I will make it a point to let people know this.

Stayed here June 26 thru July 2, 2024. Enjoyed a BBQ & Brew event, with live band on property. The staff and management go above and beyond to make your stay a pleasant one. We had an issue with our motor coach and was not able to move from our site. The office staff and management made things happen that went above and beyond what you’d expect. Because of their efforts we relaxed and got to fully enjoy their campground. Good job by all. Thank you.

Booked for a couple of nights on our way up the coast. Was a bit concerned when I read some of the reviews below, but we had a fine experience. Nice location on the water, good sized sites with picnic tables, clean and well maintained facilities. No pool, but can swim in the bay. Several piers. People who worked there very nice and helpful. Would certainly stay here again.

This is a decent park but after a long day sightseeing, we came back to music blasting out across the entire park at 9:30 at night! Most people look for peace and quiet when looking for a campground so I find this rather bizarre. Can’t even drown it out with the tv. 10:00 now and it’s still going. Rap music with the bass thumping so you can feel it on the floor. Will never recommend this place.

Terrible experience at this KOA. Campers are packed in like sardines. The KOA manager and her spouse are the meanest and most unpleasant managers I have ever met. They are mean and disparaging to the hardworking staff and to the guests! Bugs are terrible, activities for the kids are lame, trash pick up is hit or miss, bathrooms remain locked and prices for the cramped sites and in the camp store are outrageous. Needless to say this KOA is not about customer service or a positive camping experience; it is about the bottom line! I will never waste my money or time going back to this KOA. It was a total disappointment!

The only reason I didn’t put one star is because this is in an incredible location. Owners clearly realize that and don’t give a damn about customer satisfaction. Everything seems to be about putting money in the owners’ pockets. No trash pickup service and dumpsters are a long ways away. Sites are crowded and ugly. Waterfront prices are absurd. Jayak rental prices are absurd. We won’t be back. Disappointing.

Awful! Not up to KOA standards. Dusty gravel road Small unkept, very cramped sites. Neighbors sewer hose at our picnic table. Definitely overpriced for what you get and extra charges for everything. Will not return.

Potential, but not ready. Not much around immediate area and very low water pressure. Can drive to outer banks 45 min and use fresh water tank with pump but over priced for area and minimal amenities.

Loved it! Staff very friendly and helpful. Great military discount!! Definitely we will stay again!

I'm a permanent fixture here and I must say, out of all the places I've camped in the past 30 years, this one is hands down, the by best! The most helpful owners, beautiful views, clean bath house, clean lots and I could just go on and on! I love it here!!!
