Fabulous place for an overnight or longer. Located in a lovely wooded valley next to the Ocanaluftee river in the Great Smokies, this KOA has all the amenities you expect for adults and kids (outdoor movies, play structures, dog runs, nice store and fishing pond – tribal fishing licenses available at the store; watching the utility wires that run over the pond when casting!). WiFi is not the best and the cell service is really spotty in the valley. Most sites are cement and level and plenty of pull-throughs (also cabins can be rented).

Really nice destination campsite within a 5 min drive of the National Park. A destination campsite although we only stayed one night since most of our stay was inside the park. However, I would for sure come back again and just drive to the park each day since the full-service sites were great for our 40’ motorhome and there is stuff to do for the kids. We had a premium site by the river which was really nice and despite tight spacing (typical for KOA) it was away from all the other people. Great experience.

Expensive campground in the Cherokee valley. Only 4 stars due to cost. I will give it another star with an asterisk for other things such as... 1. Huge sites, more than enough to accommodate a tow. Mose are shaded too. 2. Very clean campground. 3. Not sure about the other reviews, but the staff zooming around in golf carts were minimal, very polite and helpful. Staff at checkin were polite and friendly. 4. Quiet hours were just that... quiet after 10pm. However lots of neighboring campers had yippy dogs outside . We had 3 dogs which were quiet. Happy to find a campground though that accepted multiple animals. 5. Lots to do for kids. 2 huge pools, trampoline, playgrounds, scheduled activities. 6. Close to town and GSMNP. Will likely return in the future. Open year round is another plus.

Second stay in last two months. Should have known better than to come a second time. Staff has no problem making you stand in line and wait at the store. Campsites are tight together and even when the park is only a third full they will park campers beside you. The row I was staying at had three campers all parked together with ten empty sites down from us. Fishing ponds are not on KOA property and get really crowded. Some of the locals have their special spots and will all but fight to get them. Bathrooms are really dirty and need repair. Anyone saying they are clean should visit a real campground. I didn’t see anyone cleaning the bath house or restrooms. Pool was dirty and someone could have at least swept the tree leaves, bark and twigs that fell onto the concrete. Bugs were in the pool and hot tub. Inside pool was the best if all the sliding doors would open for ventilation it really would help in the heat of the day to have a cross breeze. They really do have too many golf carts running around the park. Some of the staff were friendly not all and some wouldn’t even talk to people. Appears to be nice for kids they were riding bikes in all the streets. Bottom line this will be my last trip here. You may like it but not for me.

Stayed here with daughters Fam on their first out of town trip with their new fifth wheel. Great for kids with lots of activities , grandsons fished all day and caught nice trout. Couldn’t reserve next door sites , but front desk changed us so we could be next to each other. Everyone was nice and it was a pleasant stay, pricey, but great stay.

Over priced. Great for kids but makes for a busy campground. Bounce pad noise until 8 pm.

Great stay. Staff was amazing and helpful. Bathhouse was clean and smelled nice. Great area for kids. Fishing on site, hiking near by. Only draw back for some is going to be the ride in. Tight road with several sharp curves. Also soon after you get on Big Cove Road up by the high school there is a point where the Blueridge Parkway crosses on an overpass that is 14' tall so use caution.

Overpriced and sites are nearly on top of each other.... if you got kids it's the place for you, bikes, trampoline, kids yelling and screaming all the time.. they rent golf carts and the parents let the kids drive them like they're at Disney world....

They're lots of independent campgrounds nearby... much better options KOA also charges a hidden resort fee not mentioned on the KOA website $6.50 so the brats can have their free bikes and ride through your campsite...

No Bueno...

Stayed there last fall. We had a great time, everyone was very helpful and friendly. The place was clean and well maintained. I plan on visiting this campground in the future with my grandchildren so they can enjoy all of the fun things for kids.

Crowded stacked sites .asked for wifi passcode Lady at desk did not believe me when I said I was staying there because I didn't unbelievably rude about it. It's like a clown show with all the golf carts running around tons of employees w yellow shirts zinging around in golf carts one almost hit me. Tons of other beautiful places to stay that appreciate your business around Cherokee besides here.
