Anyone staying at Canyon and not give it a 5 star rating needs to stay at Bridge Bay campground to understand how nice Canyon is. Showers are great ( none in Bridge Bay). Sites are fairly private with many trees ( doesn’exist in Bridge Bay). If you can get in here your Yellowstone stay will be significantly improved

Confirmed nice place to stay, easy access to dump site/trash/recycle from the road, close to the village with lots of amenities

We reserved and stayed two nights at Canyon CG in mid June 2017. We have 17foot trailer and the site fit our trailer with the car parked at the side. This is a fairly big campsite but not the biggest in the park. The campground is heavily treed and most of the sites are quite dark. This might be nice in the summer when it is hot but the rest of the year it would be dark, cool and buggy. The washrooms were clean and each had an adjacent room to wash dishes.
The campground though is convenient for exploring the Canyon area of the park. For example, we were able to get to the south rim before it got really busy. There is a gas station and a nice visitor centre there.
