.I stayed 6-15 and 16-25. Zero cell signal at the campground, but the Visitor Center is just a 10-15 min walk away. I was able to get signal there with my Verizon, but they also have wifi available. Only 30 mins wifi available per their info screen. Going To The Sun Road opened the 16th so I was finally able to drive it. But you have to reserve a timed entry ticket online at 7pm the night before, which meant after I got settled in at camp, a trip up to the Visitor Center with 50 or so of my newest best friends, all vying to get logged in and trying to get their favored time slot for the drive. You could skip getting a ticket if you start your drive before 7am or after 3pm or start from St Mary on the east side of the park and drive west through the park to Apgar.
My site was close to one of the restroom buildings and there was a water spigot in front of my site, but I didn’t really notice a lot of activity around my spot due to either of those things. I did not check out the restrooms, so cannot comment on them. The camp hosts I dealt with were all very pleasant and helpful. My site was fairly level and required minimal leveling blocks.
They had a nice evening program at the amphitheater, which is just a short walk from the camping area. There is also a nice little trail to the village and boating dock where you can get some ice cream, great pics of the lake and mountains and rent kayaks or do a little swimming, shopping and/or eating. Despite being a very large, full campground, it was very relaxing and peaceful. There are enough bushes and trees around to help give you a little bit of privacy. The only place it got busy was as I was ready to dump and leave. There was a bit of a line waiting to dump.

Avoid Glacier! Instituted ticketed entry $2, which is impossible to get inline, plus you can’t access fcfs cg without entry ticket unless you take a chance & come back at 5pm & try to find availability. National Park Service is insane... don’t know how to run an operation. Lines backed up with angry folks like me trying to get entry... field operation with10 ranger staff set up to handle angry visitors that don’t understand confusing new rules.AVOID!

Great place but park attendants are terribly disorganized. Arrived late morning, there were still spaces. Attendant told us where to wait in line, it turns out she thought we were waiting for the dump station. Then she told us to drive thru a loop and look for an empty spot which we did, found a spot, pulled in and someone came to our window waving a tag showing it was his spot. Went around again and same attendant directed us to another loop and site #. That site was free but the whole thing took almost an hour. No one gave us any idea of the procedure with paying and envelopes etc, also no camp rules or map. Camp itself is lovely tho, just needs a better system.

Tent camped with two dogs.
This was one of the best experiences of my life. Loved all the trees at each site which helped with privacy since sites are very close together.
This park is so stunningly gorgeous. I want to go back and camp a whole summer here.

We were driving to Alaska and in the general area and decided to spend a couple days in W Glacier at Apgar. We're self-contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed on weekdays in mid-May in our 25 foot MH.
This was our second stay. We reviewed this CG in July 2017 and this is an update. In the early season, limited campsites are available. We arrived at 5pm and only half the sites were occupied. (We heard and couldn't confirm the sites filled on a Saturday night.) The dump station and potable water were available.
Going to the Sun Road was not open as it typically opens in late June. High altitude trails were still snow covered and some are open for winter hiking. There were several lower altitude trails open for hiking near Apgar Village. Several stores were open while the restaurant was not. Check the web site for opening dates in the early season.

Can stay for free at Apgar picnic area in the winter. Outhouse is open, no other facilities but probably 4-5 sites just off the lake with fire pits if you're feeling brave.
It was cold but it was beautiful and free! Stayed in Ford e-150 campervan

Nicely shaded sites. Most need leveling. There is no electric or water hookups so you hear a concert of generators 3 x a day. Bathrooms need major updating as there is no hot water or soap. No fans either. In this day and age I've seen better facilities at state and private campgrounds. For the entrance fees they get nothing is going back into the infrastructure at that campground. They need to spend some money on updating. We won't be back...

We were looking for a CG in Glacier NP that would be convenient to the shuttle route to access to hiking trails. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed a week in late July in our 25 foot MH.
This is a nice and very conveniently located CG. The hosts are friendly and helpful. All sites are first come first serve. Sites that are expected to be available (campers have until 11:30 to extend their stay) have no tags on the post after 7am. Pick up a registration envelope at the entrance, select an untagged post/empty site and hang a tag on the post. There's much variety in sizes and shapes and privacy of sites. Most are wooded and shady. We were unable to use our solar panels. Most need some leveling. There is no wifi. There's usable ATT and Verizon service with slow data which slows further early in the evening due to volume.
The CG is a 10 minute walk to the Visitor Center/shuttle hub and a 20 minute walk to Apgar Village. There is a full shuttle stop at the CG. A rocky swim beach at Lake McDonald and the amphitheater for Ranger presentations was a 5 minute walk.

Campground is part of Apgar Village and within walking distance of the Visitor Center. Apgar Village has a small general store and equipment can be rented for use on Lake McDonald.
