I must reiterate Craig and Tonsi鈥檚 exceptionaleview. but would also like to add the fact that every site 30 and 50 amp shares a post with the opposite campsite. my Hughs watchdog EMS would not allow the use of the 30 amp circuit due to a missing ground fault. So I had to use a dog leg off of the 50 amp circuit to run power. When I brought this up to the camp host, he and I took my watchdog and checked three posts in different campsites on the same row as ours. All campsites had the same fault
(missing ground) . He called the building office and had some state employed. Electricians check out the issue, to which they couldn鈥檛 find one. come to find out the electrician that was working on. This was also the one who wired this campsite in the beginning and stated that all circuits are daisychained to a 200 amp drop! I wonder how that works with a full Campground and all the ACs running.

Nice little park for one night. Showers are at the gym. Quiet area except for owners dogs(including mine). Locks on every power source and you must get a key if you intend on using it. Toilet is ones like you see in national parks. Not bad but could use a little upgrade.

I鈥檒l try to keep this short. Don鈥檛 bother making a reservation, it will only tick you off to try and then even more to come. Don鈥檛 know how I got the mess I did in spot 11 but then four star reviews on here are really, really, generous. The price is now $31 not $16. The place looks new, I鈥檒l give them credit for that and it had a ton of money dumped into it in (I was told) 2013. But the 鈥渦pgrade鈥 is exactly this kind of fraud, waste, and abuse that should piss us all off enough to call it out when we see it. The camp design should never have been approved, not yet built, and certainly corrected (by the contractor) once finished. Hard pass for me next time this way and if everyone stops coming maybe, just maybe, they will fix it. At least call them like you see them.
Here is what your money gets in spot eleven (and many of the rest are similar): 1) A sewer discharge hole thirteen inches higher than your wheel base (meaning you must, if you can even do it at all, hand raise your full sewer lines to empty them). In my case that gave me about two inches between the bottom of my sewer discharge outlet and the top of their drain. Good thing I didn鈥檛 use the hole in the bottom of my drain compartment and ran it directly out the compartment door or sewage would have gushed out the port when I removed it. Did I tell you there is a nine inch curb to contend with? Watch your retracting steps on them if you鈥檙e looking for a level spot near the edges (which ironically is where they are). This is the worst basic RV park design I鈥檝e ever seen. Believe it or not the camp host has entire his rig jacked up six inches to compensate. 2). A pit toilet in the park and only a pit toilet (when they have full water and sewer right there). 3). Community showers at the gym (good luck if training is going on). 4). The small arms range right next door. 5). The opportunity to use every leveling device in your rig (when the place was built on a flat plain). I had a six inch drop between my front wheels and back (Sprinter frame with a 24 foot rig on top). This is the ONLY time between Seward Alaska and Key West Florida where I literally used every block in my rig to get level. I suspect auto leveling would need additional blocks under the jacks. 6). A difficult time getting a reservation (I won鈥檛 give you the number because then you can鈥檛 blame me for finally making one). 7). Check-in time is after 1400 but before 1630. They do have a system to leave your key, used for the water and electricity box, in a box outside the office. Check out time is 1000. What happens in the four hours the spot is empty remains a mystery. 8). Mandatory use of the South Gate (where someone needs to come let you in). I easily drove my rig out the main gate when I departed.
Ok, enough. Hope to read someday that they finally got the funds to fix what they know is a problem. I won鈥檛 be back to check it out because frankly, I don鈥檛 think they care. Hope everyone that does use it complains.
I鈥檇 be remiss if I didn鈥檛 mention you have free laundry - in the barracks. Again, good luck if it鈥檚 a training period. Life is full of choices.

RV site was gravel and fairly level. The front office was helpful in y request for a extension. There is no commissary or AAFES service no filling station. However there are a few shopping area, Walmart, Albertsons, and staterbros. The site has no showers other then the local gym. Nice a quite. Would stay there again.

Very nice quiet campground. Check in/out process very easy. Campground Hosts we芒鈧劉re very helpful and are working hard to keep the place nice. Like most reviewers, the sewer drain is too high to drain properly. Adding more gravel to each site would remedy this problem. Only had a Vault Toilet and no showers. You can take a shower at the gym which is close by.

Really nice little campground on the military base. There芒鈧劉s not too much tree coverage near your side, but the temperature in Montana is not that bad. The camp post and assistant camp post were very helpful, and we芒鈧劉re concerned about getting my size of rig into the spot (I have a 42ft Momentum THauler). The spots are actually very open and easy to get into. The only down part that I have experience so far, is that the site is unlevel. I had to put a substantial amount of blocks under my front landing gear to make my RV level. Overall it芒鈧劉s a really good campground, peaceful, and quiet.

Wow! Clean and fairly easy to level our Class A motor home. They do have a 芒鈧搑estroom 芒鈧 but you will be more comfortable using your own. Easy process to reserve and extremely friendly staff and very helpful! We were able to use our satellite tv and even got some local over-the-air channels. As we have our own WiFi even great internet signals. Will definitely recommend this Famcamp and will be staying here again!

This was a very nice stop for us as we spent some time visiting the State Capitol building and the area sights. The base was very clean and quiet. Check-in is somewhat involved as you must call security so they can meet you at the truck gate and open it for you. We declared one handgun which was secured by a cable lock by security. You retain your weapon and they unlock it when you depart. Our site was paved and long enough for our 45' motorhome and tow car. The sites are narrow and the electric plug-in was on the passenger side while water and sewer were on the drivers side. With slides out you actually encroach on your neighbors patio area. There are twelve sites and the park is very clean and well cared for. The views of the surrounding hills were beautiful and the proximity to downtown Helena made it very convenient. We paid $21 per night. Would highly recommend this park.
