This is my 2 nd time here in the last week or so. It’s a clean area, some trees, grass, has the services you need. Both times I set it up by phone, didn’t need to go into the office. I have found the people here friendly. This time I’ll need to use the washer dryer. It’s coin operated at the entrance where the shower/ bathrooms are. On base they have many services one needs as well. Recently learned that dod card holders can eat on base in the cafeteria now. I thought the gas would have been cheaper on base. Unfortunately the same price as off base.

Stayed at Malmstrom famcamp on our way from Alaska to Utah. Host was super nice as were the sites. The camp is located just outside base so it was easy to get in and get out. Electric, water, and sewer at our site for $40 a night. Other than being like 108 degrees it was a great stay.

Great for overnight stay. Host was very nice. It was nearly 100 degrees out. Would have been nice to have some shade of well placed trees. But typical of some fam camps, it was more of a parking lot layout. The gate was closed on this side, but the visitor center was open for getting our temporary base pass.

Much cheaper than off base-$40 compared to 2-3 times that. Camp host was friendly, campsite was clean. The Fam Camp was right outside the base gate. Sites are concrete pull thurs but really unlevel. Mosquitoes were TERRIBLE (we stayed 2 nights in June). Used this fam camp as a base for sightseeing. Lots to see in the area. Electricity worked fine and good water pressure.

Stayed at the main FamCamp off base. Perfect stop for our down day to do laundry, hookup to water and sewer, and to shower. Laundry room was clean. Showers and bathrooms were clean, spacious and the water got nice and hot.
The camp hosts had set up planters throughout the park that campers were welcome to help themselves to (unfortunately, it was toward the end of the season), a nice little touch! The walking path was nice and we were told we could let our dog off leash there too. Dog waste bags were available and there were several trash cans throughout the park.

Never found Gateway(off base) but would suggest it over the annex (on base) where we stayed. This is review of FAMCAMP annex on base. First of all, the mosquitoes are numerous and hostile. Bug spray not much of a deterrent. Needless to say we spent no time outdoors other than hooking up RV. No available sites were level, so we used blocks, no problem. Odd set up with the sewer connection being uphill from the site (#20), so we just didn’t hook up the sewer and just used the dump station on the way out. Over 20 sites... unsure if all had full hookups. Didn’t see any bath/shower/laundry facilities...perhaps annex does not have these like Gateway? $20 per night, a handful of other RVs here.

We enjoyed staying here. The camp host was very helpful. He even helped us get our turn signals working. Outstanding customer service. The park is clean, well maintained and quiet. The walking path is an extra. Wi-fi was strong enough to stream Netflix. Close to commissary and BX. Close to Walmart. We would highly recommend staying here. We camped in a motorhome.

Stayed at Gateway (off-base) FamCamp for 5 nights. Off-base sites are concrete, pull through pads with ample space. Electric is centered on pad, water is shared with neighboring camper (y-hose connector is installed). Our water was faces towards the front of the spot, made for a pretty long run, but pressure and quality is good. Wifi has one node in the middle of the campground. This is great for the 4 or so campers around the pole. We were one row over and could not hook up, major bummer, especially since we paid $4 extra per night ($24/night at Gateway versus $20 on-base for the gravel sites). Had access to laundry; 2 washers and dryers at $1 per cycle. They worked well. Shower facilities were clean and lightly used. Quiet and pleasant stay. Just wish that for the extra money, the wifi was better. We stayed in a TT.

Great camp. Great staff in outfoor recreation. There are 2 FamCamps at Malstrom. One off and the other on base. We stayed in Gateway which is off base just outside the gate, but is patrolled by SPs frequently. It has concrete pads (on base does not) and full hookups at $24 pday (or $130 p/week). Also has fairly good WiFi (I was told no wifi on base) with descent speed but is slower when it has a lot of users. Pads are a little unlevel which required several attempts to get level without having the front wheels off the ground. Good space between each site. Stayed here 8 days in 38' MH. Be sure to visit the Louis & Clark Interpretive Museum, hike the Rivers Edge Trail, and the on base Air Museum. Would stay here again.

The sites were larger than others we've been at but were still "cozy." The place was neat and clean and right outside the Air Force base. There was a large pet relief area and a great dog park in town. The WiFi was unreliable and the laundry room had 2 washers with 4 dryers (weird). All sites were pull thru and the campground was easy to get to. A good place to stay.
