It’s not a resort but it is a short walk to a lovely geothermal resort that you can buy a discounted ticket to. Grass only survives on rain and by Sept it is all brown. That said it has a nice store, flat sites some with shade. The owner can be a bit grumpy but he handled our minor issues to our satisfaction.

NOT a resort! When we made our reservations, we received an email with all their rules (2 full typed pages) that had to be acknowledged and agreed to online by electronic signature. So, I was expecting some spectacular park with impressive amenities … NOT! Dusty, gravel, unlevel sites. When we arrived, the rules were read to us again (though we had already signed that we in understood and agreed to same) when we checked in as if we had never seen them before! We were threatened with removal from the park if we didn’t adhere to the 5MPH limit. That kind of intimidating language is not a welcoming first impression at check-in. How about saving the rough talk for those who have actually broken the rules!

This is certainly a campground and not a resort. There appear to be two sections to the campground. The older section is primarily used for smaller RVs. The new section is definitely set up for big rigs. The entire campground is gravel. The older section does have grass between the sites and limited shade. In the new section, there is no shade and the sites are much closer together. The sites are all pretty level. Water pressure is low. We had one bar of AT&T and one bar of Verizon cell service. Internet via cell phone connection was almost nonexistent. The campground Internet was very poor. If you need decent Internet while camping, this is not a good place to stay. The restrooms, showers, and laundry area are all very good. The campground is about 15 or 20 minutes from Butte. We found the Campground staff to be efficient but not very friendly.

Look up the definition of RV resort. This isn’t it. Sites not level. Site not big enough to accommodate vehicle. Water access almost 50’ from RV. This is at best a run of the mill RV park. No picnic table. Sites not particularly spacious and grass not well attended.
In all honesty I need to modify my review. It is still not a Resort. However, most sites have a reasonable distance, but not all. Most are pretty level, but not all. Too many are not long enough to accommodate the vehicle at the site. No picnic tables. I’ll give them three stars as it is a fairly decent park.

Very quiet, good staff, check in was quick. Sites were decently spaced. Great space for the dog. I would stay here again.

What a gem, Fairmont Rv Park is in our top 3 campgrounds in over 8 years rv traveling. This park will provide an authentic Montana experience with stunning scenery. Well managed and well kept. Warm welcoming staff, great location with lots of outdoor adventures nearby, but just sitting at camp and taking in all this beauty and unmistakeable peacefulness is so relaxing. Highly recommend for families or travelers alike. Easy access from I-90 and although sites aren’t paved, it is not a dusty campground like so many in Montana. Spacious sites with well tended grass. Hot springs next door was a bonus.

We loved it here! Great level site. Best wifi we have ever had anywhere. The winter sites have heated water taps and the hot springs so close to visit. The guy that owns the park is amazing. He works so hard to meet your needs. He didn’t sell any ice this time of (Oct) year, so he went and got a bag of ice from his freezer. Our neighbor had a dog get into something and he brought them something to help them. I can’t say enough about him in our short stay here. We will be back next year for sure!

We really enjoyed our stay here even though it was only for one night. Rollin was very helpful with getting us set up and giving us suggestions on what to do there as well as where to eat. Only reason for a four star is I wasn’t impressed with the bathroom/shower. This could be updated. I would stay here again.

Overrated for lack of amenities and higher price. Our site wasn’t level enough for being a pull through.

We have stayed here several times and it keeps getting better. They put in more pull thru sites up top where they use to be back ins only. Nice big sites great views, easy in and easy out.
