Stayed here one night Tuesday March 7, 2023. Lots of availability. They have a new section at the back of the campground that is very nice and has full hookups, but the closest bathroom/shower is in the older section where everything is well used and in need of maintenance. Roadways are narrow and could be problematic for bigger rigs.

Was at the park in early December, 2022. Mid-week, nearly vacant. Park is fine. Facilities are clean. We were in the older campsites (RV) which are kinda dated. But fine. Frankly - they could have a staff member spend a day with a leaf blower and it would really clean things up. However, we walked around to the back where they have some recently ( I think summer, 2022 from the look) constructed RV sites which had full hookups and seemed fabulous - fresh sod, new car smell.

Stayed 3 nights to visit a local friend. It’s a cool park if you drive around it all(pool/hiking /fishing , etc..) Staff is very friendly and helpful. Going into to campground portion of the park the curve is a bit steep and sharp. We did not use the bath or shower. Overall the park needs upgrading. All sites are back-in and fairly narrow since the sites were built up significantly to make level. There are several potholes in the campground roads. We have a 37 ft class A. I would recommend for a bit smaller unit. According to the local staff the are starting a project next week to install sewer hookups in some sites.

Beautiful park, and some of the best hiking I’ve ever experienced. I would put it on par with GSM NP or Petit Jean in Arkansas. However, the buildings, roads, pool, cabins, etc are all pretty dilapidated. I was barely able to navigate my 39’ fifth wheel around this park. The roads are narrow, cracked, and drop off pretty severely in some spots. Concrete pads were level, but VERY narrow. The site dropped so severely from the pad, that I couldn’t make the legs of my steps touch the ground. We had to use our leveling blocks. Electric and water worked fine…. No sewer. There was a dump station, but the road to it was so windy and narrow and the exit culvert was so narrow, I couldn’t have gotten my fifth wheel out of there so I had to leave with my tanks full.

First time to stay in this campground. As others have remarked roads to state park are narrow, winding, and in disrepair. Overall condition on campground is poor. I called to see if see could arrive around lunch-ish and was told by Robert that we could not occupy site until after 2 pm rules are rules so we arrived at 3 pm, lady that checked us in asked what site we had reserved and told us the placards had been placed for the day to go ahead and thank you. What she didn’t say was hey the road has sever drop offs and there is a turn around at the end you guys will have to go past your #29 site then back in on your way out. Now we figured it out as most campers do but the info would have been helpful to first- timers Stayed in campsite #29. Site was concrete slab which was level. Asphalt entrance to campsite was in down sloping toward camp road and degrading. truck was on a downhill grade but manageable. Site is right next to power line easement. Site was down sloping to the camp road. Water a electricity were dilapidated but about par for the park. Hiking is our thing, but my significant other has significant phobia of snakes so it was not we are gonna hike every trail weekend we did hike a couple and managed it without encountering one of the snake varieties known to the area. On a late evening walk encountered two cars parked in a very remote area no I didn’t ask and no I don’t want to know what was going on with that. Vehicle traffic throughout the park through out the weekend were way to frequent and traveling way too fast. We consider this a last resort campground, which is a shame because with some sprucing up and management changes this could be a spectacular campground!

Very convenient place to stay for the night considering there’s not a lot of choices on the Trace. The roads need help in some places but overall not bad. I didn’t use any facilities. Just stayed for the night. Site 62 provides enough open sky for satellite reception. Verizon coverage at 62 was 1-2 LTE. Good enough to stream. Better than I thought it would be. Concrete pads, old picnic tables and an adjustable grill.

Very nice campground and lake. Staff is very nice and came by to check on us a couple times per day. Sites are mostly level with water and 50a power. A dump station is available. Good hiking trails nearby to swinging bridge

Pros- beautiful lake side setting, loved the hiking trails, bathrooms ok, quiet, near Natchez Trace Cons - badly cracked road and many concrete pads are in rough shape, concrete pads are being eroded from underneath, can have many wet sites. Buildings are pretty run down and it looks like no money is being spent on the park. I did enjoy my stay, would stay again

The park is good, price is good, proximity to Memphis was good. However, on the final day we finally experienced the nearby sewage treatment facility mentioned in other comments. Maybe it was more contained due to fog that day but the smell pretty potent.

Stayed 2 nights starting Oct 30, 2018. Quiet secluded part. Over looks a man made pond and a few of the sites have a nice view. Plenty of wildlife - saw geese and deer. RV site was level concrete large enough for a 30 foot class C, however 2 feet on each side of the RV, the site dropped off severely. There are steps to a lower ground level with a picnic table/grill, however they are rotted and unsafe. Not too useful. Bathhouse was clean and dated. Park has a quick access to Natchez Trace Parkway. Would not stay here again.
