Ok place to camp, its a bit too busy for us. We prefer quite camping and this place has a lot going on. Overall, its ok but just not for us.

We chose this park for its location as we drove from Arkansas to Florida and also because it was a relatively inexpensive full hook up site. This is a huge campground and there are various loops. When I booked, there were only a few choices, so I put us in the last loop where you have to drive all the way to the end of campground to get to it. I liked the seclusion of it and with beautiful lakeside sites, all fairly spacious. But no bathroom facility nearby and they put a group tent site in our loop. There was a large group camped there on our last night. They were loud until about midnight or so. Also, lack of signage is not helpful. We came in the back way and if it were not for Google maps, we would not have found our loop site. Verizon service was low but adequate for phone service. But it is a beautiful park.

Really loved this park. Beautiful setting. Pull through sites we stayed in are are really close together, but the rest of the parks back in sites are roomy and looked to have easy access. We will stay here again for longer than the two nights.

Stayed overnight March 10th. Got in after office closed. Noted the sign showing which sites were reserved and found a great one near the bathhouse. Clean, well spaced lots and even though getting older, washrooms and showers were clean and filled. For $25 US for the night, the rate was fair as it also included electricity, water and washroom/kitchen tank sewers at each site. After our visit to Biloxi for 5 days we came back and spent another 2 nights. Great location and reasonable priced to stay

Nice level pull throughs, some with shade. Nearly all have a Lakeview. Back in sites are decent also. Full hook ups at pull through’s and just water and electric at other sites. Lake for fishing, sandy beach area, hiking areas, and a huge splash pad for the kids. Did not use the restrooms so there’s no comment on that. Good water and electric service. Very quiet park.

We rented a cabin recently while visiting my grandchildren. Although the cabin was very clean, There is rotted wood on all exterior and interior doors. It is listed accompanying 4.....there are 4 folks, knives etc!! There was one very old/worn out small frying pan and one small saucepan Only!! No baking sheet or any other pan at all!! There is a table to eat at but with only 2 chairs! The mattress are worn out and not comfortable. I brought pot holders & comfortable pillows as suggested. They are charging 75-80$ a night.....in my opinion it’s too high for these units!! These could be really cute with some TLC!!

We pulled in a little after 6pm. A park ranger drive up as we were looking for office. She said any site open we could pull in. Stayed in site 110 beautiful lake view, fire pit full of trash. We went to pull out at 7 ish office doesn’t open till 8:00 no signage of cost. Wanted to skip check under door. A nice park employee came up explaining office ours and there is an honor box at entrance. We didn’t notice, he’s did say no cost posted. Now about park. Site level I picked because it was shaded for late afternoon. Well tree blocked satellite. No biggies good air channels. If traveling with children and playground important stay up by the office a trek back up hill. Att and Verizon reception good. Easy back in. Cement pad paved roads.

Oops forgot to mention GPS took us in back way. 45 ft motor home not an easy drive. If we had driven less then a mile south on 49 we would have been at main entrance. Much easier

Easy access, good interior roads, sites are mostly shaded, lots of lake view sites and friendly staff. Weekend and holidays get busy, but other than that it is quiet and peaceful. It is 20 minutes to Purvis (grocery and fast food) or 30 minutes to all that Hattiesburg offers.

This is our favorite state park in MS.
