Big Biloxi campground in Desoto National Forest near Biloxi. We stayed here March 3 -4 2023. Did not feel Welcome by camp host the 2 nights we paid for. After arriving and parked starting to set up the camp host drove up on riding mower with a disgusted look on his face and said he needs to cut the grass on my site for me to go park somewhere else. Won’t go through the whole story. But this guy had a very bad attitude. We were so glad to leave after our stay. This attitude went on for 2 days and also embarrassed our company that came to see us. What a ruined weekend we had.

We have camped here twice. May of 2017 and August of 2019. In 2017 there was a very nice host on site. Now there is Highway Patrolman on the host site. He is not there every day. The bathroom is in need of updating but is clean and well stocked. In May there were several other campers and a few homeless folks. In August there are only two other sites occupied. We camped on site #1 both times. Verizon cell and WiFi work well.

Quiet and clean. Not easy to get on or access the river. Not able to access the hiking trail since the bridge is down and the trail is overgrown. Very buggy and be careful of yellow flies, our bits swelled up. Facilities and utilities are very good.

Quite small park. Great sites with good spacing. Camp host John and his wife are very nice. Draw backs the hiking trail has been shut down for almost 2 years (bridge out). The Navy Seabees have offered to build the new bridge but rangers have declined the offer. This is our come to park and the grounds and bathhouse is always clean. Bathhouse is cold, cold, cold. The fire pits are always nasty full of trash not cleaned between visitors a complete turn off cigarette butts all over the sites.

Older campground under used very large sites but pads smaller they need better signage on Hwy 49 l know where it is and can still miss it.
