Packing up tomorrow. We would come back again even though there is no water at the sites. You won’t find a prettier campground. Well maintained and the hosts are super friendly. Good site spacing. Bathrooms are old but clean. There’s only one so it’s a hike or drive to get there because you may be a long way out. Trails are nice.

Beautiful small state park, well maintained. Most sites have partial shade. Sites are moderately spaced apart and most require some leveling, even though they are paved. Easy 30 drive in to St Louis to see the sights.

We like coming to Babler when we can’t be far feom town. Almost all of the non-electric sites are PERFECT. They are spaced apart and shaded. About half of the electric sites are good, although it is a bit like camping in the backtard beacause if the grass lawns that surround many if the campsites. We prefer more natural surroundings. Showers are decent. Plenty of hot water and moderately clean. Flush toilets are decent enough. Pit toilets are not maintained or cleaned well. There are lots of hiking and biking trails here. I wish the pool was still open.

Babler SP is a nice park. It is not overly large, and campsites are well spaced. We found it has 3 downsides: 1. Signage is not clear nor efficient; confusing, in fact. 2. When checking in, RVs are required to drive near the dump station/water intake site! If there is more than 1 RV wanting to use that facility when you check in, there is not enough space to drive around them- you simply wait! 3. Very small turning radius’s. Some sites are difficult to back into, even with a 25 foot trailer. Our 30 foot was a challenge! Security is highly visible and the park seems well maintained.

As I write this, the autumn tree show is peaking. Very nice. It’s great to park on poured concrete again. Didn’t use nor explore the shower house or visitors center. Didn’t walk the trails either, just an overnight stay while traveling. Nice find indeed. Not much visual privacy but good spacing between sites. Sites 21, 22, 28 and 29 ( maybe others ) offer 30 amp and a southern sky view for the satellite. Verizon LTE 2 bars.

We stayed at Babler State Park Campground for 4 days to visit many attractions in St Louis. For $21/night with 20/30amp electric hookup seems pricey, but campground provides everything, so we didn’t think we missed anything else. Started with clean and functional bathroom short distance away from our site#31. This site also the perfect spot to received morning sun while provide plenty of shades in the afternoon. The smooth paved road and spacious campsite made walking or driving easy. Granted, the campsite has that desirable L-Shaped configuration perfect for picnic table and trailer/RV, but why in the world would anybody paved unleveled site? Leveling blocks were used to make everything right. No water hookup at campsite, but water spigots scattered throughout the campground make fetching water little easier. There are pit toilets in each camp courts, instead of flush toilets and showers. There is no camp loop here, just bunch of dead end camp courts. WiFi was good with RedPort booster, and LTE/3G is decent 2 bars. OTA TV signal provided 40 local channels. Added to the weirdness of park layout; smallish driveway entrance and rain drainage weren’t properly cut required our trailer to tip-toed over it, or excessive number of picnic area in middle of nowhere, or pit toilets instead of flush toilets in most courts. We would find another campground next time when passing through again.

Very nice State Park, with cemented pads. Very clean and well maintained. Shorts clean but not warm enough for me but still nice to have a shower.

Nicest park near St. Louis. State park with paved roads, patios and sites. Electric only (hence the 3 star rating), decent WiFi. Entire park is gated at night. Lots of biking and hiking trails and picnic shelters and pool in park. Very affordable, we stay here frequently when in St. Louis.

Probably the best campground in St. Louis area as long as you don't mind electric only sites. THERE IS NO POOL. It was hit by lightning years ago and not fixed. Nice area for bike riding.
