At one time this was a Minnesota State Park. Evidence of this is the bathhouse built by the work projects administration in 1939.
We found this campground pleasant and almost empty while surrounding state parks were filled to capacity. Campground has vault toilets and hot showers which we tested. Built by what was at one time a lake that is now swampland. Recommended only for non-electric camping (tent and small trailers).
There was a payment kiosk at the entrance with no instructions as to amount of payment, so pay what you feel is appropriate? Firewood shed was locked so firewood was unavailable. Perhaps calling the phone number associated with this campground in advance would have clarified these items.
