Campground is a modest grassy field with gravel roads, near the casino. Most sites level. Toilet and showers are down the hill. They’re modest and clean. Water is plentiful but not hot. Casino WiFi reaches sites. Friendly proprietor. Within minutes of the excellent and fascinating Grand Portage National Monument. Casino has a decent restaurant. Gas and convenience store nearby. All sites have pretty much the same view.

Bland and featureless campground but with a nice view of Lake Superior. Staff is nice. WiFi non-existent at our site. Network name didn’t even show up on my devices. All staff could do was shrug shoulders. Only restaurant for miles is at casino next door. It is woefully understaffed and cannot cook several items on their menu because of broken/missing equipment. We made do but probably would not stay here again.

3 Stars for Allstays Review: The main attraction is the location right next to Lake Superior and the ferry to Isle Royal National Park.. Exceptional views and location … otherwise nothing noteworthy. Sites are grass with limited gravel coverage. Site 17 was spacious with a nice buffer of shrub trees and grass between sites. Bath house needs updating/painting. No cable tv and no over air tv channels. Wi-Fi very spotty at sites but good at casino across the road. AT&T appears to be only cell service available. Casino with nice restaurant and convenience store next door.

Stayed here one night. View is decent in half the park. No shade but it was cool in July. Full hookups for about $43 includes use of the hotel pool, hot tub, and sauna. Convenient to the gas station, diesel, and a car wash big enough to run an RV through. Some groceries at the trading post. The real gem here is easy walking distance to the Grand Portage National Monument. No fee and a great interpretive site. Watch the 22 min film first in the visitor center and then head to the historical site across the road on the bay. Hours were 8:30-5:00. We went twice with a 9 & 10 year old.

Nice view of lake but campground is run down, not maintained very good. ... construction trailers are parked at front of campiground. ... utilities ok, very poor WiFi... mud, grass and gravel sites ... some permanent residents ... good for a night at Casino.

Location, location, location. What the place lacks in amenities is more than made up for by where it is. They've got full hookups and that is good enough for me. Overlooking a bay on Lake Superior gives a breathtaking view with early morning fog. There is abundant kayaking/canoeing, biking, hiking and fishing nearby. Be sure to visit the Grand Portage Monument just walking distance from the park. They do a fantastic job of presenting the rich history of the area with a visitor center and a re-creation of the fort and Indian village from the 1790's. The people are dressed in period clothing and are the most knowledgeable on the subject matter of any nat'l Monument we've visited.

Sites are level with mostly gravel. Dirt roads. Several low spots, so could be muddy in wet weather. You check in at Marina. Only AT&T cell coverage. Wifi is weak and spotty. Sites are well spread out. Walking distance to casino. Pretty nice park and about 3 miles from boat dock to Isle Royale National Park.

Sites are gravel but level. Bathroom facilities are adequate and clean. Attendants are courteous and helpful. Small trees have been planted at each site, but are not needed for shade. We stayed in August and weather was cool.
